Hi Unwinder, Can I ask a quick question please. I'm still using the MSI 670 PE/OC, is this code below still relevant for use in the profile with v4.xx afterbuner. [Settings] VDDC_Generic_Detection = 0 VDDC_uP6262_Detection = 4:30h VDDC_uP6262_R1 = 1000 Can I use the current v4.xx onwards or do I need to go back to 2.2.3 Thank you.

you can add it if you want but not needed, just use extended voltage option . setup> generaltab="unlock voltage control" > extended MSI voltage control Works great on my MSI 660ti PE/OC

I've had the extended voltage option set yes. I still don't see my usual high overclocking as before. Could it be the '340.xxx' NV drivers. I seem to remember great overclocks and 150% power usage last year. I've not been doing my OC'ing this year so am a little rusty.

just updated to 4.0 and it randomly crashes i get the pop up windows saying MSI afterburner stopped working

still have crashing problems. Is there a conflict with AIDA64 with this latest version ? i had no problems before upgrade to 4.0.

I use HWinfo64 along side AB with no problems. Maybe have better luck with it?

Try replacing msi ab main config file (backup the old one) That was a problem for me when moving from 3.xx to 4.0.0.

Anyone know of it's possible to change the 970 fan profile? Much cards idle at 32c and I'd like to take the idle fan speed down from 35% as it doesn't need to sit at that speed.. Can afterburner do this or will I need a BIOS edit to change the fan profile?

I read the review from tweak town of the MSI GTX980 Twin froz V. There is a fan issue. This issue seems to be the result of some conflict between version four of MSI Afterburner, and the new Twin Frozr V feature. Although, with the fan control software installed, we could manually set the speed of each fan individually, and that did fix the issue with any heat. Is there a fix that you plan to implement in MSI afterburner Unwinder ?

How do I replace the MSIAfterburner.cfg-file - the app needs this file to work...
First exit Afterbuner. Just rename extension from CFG to BAK (for example). Afterburner creates a new one when you start it.

You may need to reinstall afterburner and maybe even display drivers. Something looks broken there.

No. There won't be any specific support for custom fan controllers.

I have the MSI 970 gaming and fans work fine with AB at stock fan setting auto or using a custom fan profile , which I do . It looks like MSI has a issue with some models randomly as they are getting reports of second fan not spinning down after load .This is stock or with w/o AB . So AB is not the issue and I have feeling same on 980 , unless there is something major change on fan controller .

They said that each fan is independent for control. If i use the afterburner for custom fan profile will both fan be at the same speed ?

they both operate at same time and appear to be rpm linked too .though i have no way to test that .

No. AB or any other software controlling fan via NV driver (such as NVInspector for example) will only control fan speed of single fan. You'll need additional fan control software to control both independently, it is not AB's job to access additional fan controller directly and new versions won't support it.
