My phone is a brick with no functions and does not connect to the internet. I don't have any 'accounts'. Even if I did, it would all be deactivated as I know how.
My phone is only being used for outward calls and alarm.

I have nothing to hide either but that is not the point. I have used this and stopped everything on first page. Everything is still working great! Not sure what some of the optional ones are though like Web Search Group Policy and remote reg service (which was already off for some reason). Any one know what they are? I already turned off OneDrive as I don't use it.
Web search group policy is probably just a setting to restrict search data. Its probably what this tool does, just auto-configures settings which can be set manually anyway. Group policies are basically domain-settings, which can be pushed to domain clients to force them to work in a certain way. There are even group policies to disable file explorer or make BitLocker mandatory. Its enterprise stuff and this search setting is probably only meant for enterprises. Remote Registry Service is also enterprise stuff. It enables remote editing of your Windows Registry and its off by default anyway.

Better or worse than O&O Shutup 10 ?
don't know this one but i am sure (as this one too) that it just use the key to disable service. i have done it at W10 launch (it's pretty much the same way than in windows 8.*), but this is more easy if you are not IT and it is cute... good tool

my phone is for phoning (the free LG phone with a 2 Euro unlimited voice/text phone package... far than enough) ... for me too much computer in it, kill the hype of the smartphone (was feeling at work each time i have a call).

It doesn't matter actually. Your phone and PC share the same connection at home, or you log in your PC to use a service with the same account you use on your phone. It might give you a sense of security but is just the feeling.
i personally dont need my PC synced with my other windows device, as there no benefit for me, instead it bothersome for me in some case microsoft can said there more benefit in those but i dont need it so i dont want it , beside i dont own any other windows device beside my pc plus this is PC not PHONE especially desktop PC that stay in ur home all the time if phone i understand, some tracking feature can be useful in some cases
From my understanding, these programs make entries into the host files which MS can bypass for these services to continue working regardless. This seems more of a peace of mind thing. There are a few programs that let you uninstall useless baked-in crAPPs like Xbox & etc which are useful.
these tools not just simply adding entries to host file ... it disabling services, changing registry and even as far remove/renaming some files to prevent them running *not sure if linking other forum allowed or not but for people interest to do it manual way : http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/63874-REPO-Windows-10-TELEMETRY-REPOSITORY

Q: What's the #1 malware-vector software group? A: Anti-spy/malware software, of course...;) Thought everyone knew that by now. All of these items can be disabled within the standard Win10 user GUI, and the settings are not hidden, nor are they obscured. Here's is a nice guide for the paranoid among us, telling them what and how to turn off the stuff they are scared of ...;) http://www.howtogeek.com/224616/30-ways-windows-10-phones-home/ Mob paranoia is an interesting phenomenon to observe, no doubt about it!

Nice tool, thanks.
Ditto, just installed it. Can't wait to install it on the rest of my PC's.

I disabled all the usual suspects yet the program in the OP found a lot more 🙂

Is a tool like this necessary for those of us who have disabled the known spying manually? Is there some setting that can't be disabled normally?

Yep, by manually going through everything I found online I still ended up missing things. It said I only have 25/41 blocked.

It does more then that (saw some regedit stuff at a quick glance), but yeah, it adds these to the hosts file:
