They need to fix DX9 game crashes on W11 before I consider it even close to stable enough for a daily drive
Why not use vulkin wrapper.
And people like you kill me.
Better fix issues on games on a non released OS without RTM drivers for a 16 year old graphics API.
Ill do those. It still runs kinda crappy but its better. I dont have the flicker. But I am running a modded version that basically turns into GTA5. FPS drops are insane. Even my vanilla copy runs almost as bad.
Yea I think the mods are your issue there.
I find the game still extremely demanding even on modern hardware due to its coding. I don't have any mods and the game is maxed out EXCEPT view distance slider which if you slide down to around 43/100 there is literally zero difference in IQ but you claw back quite a decent chunk of fps.

I agree with your stance.
As some random fun fact, back in late 2011 or around 2012, when Windows 8 was in Developer Preview (or just after it launched?), a modded Thief The Dark Project with TFix would be completely crippled on Windows 8 (some 7 fps), vs fully unlocked performance on W7.
I have yet to replay Thief 1 (or ever finish it) ...
Driver timeouts may be experienced while playing a game & streaming a video simultaneously on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeonโข RX 500 Series Graphics...
Is this a new issue starting from this driver?
Wonder about that too. I read (before this driver was released) that some people lately got Driver Timeouts. Maybe it was now added under known issues? Guess i'll just skip them as long as it isn't clear if it is related to this specific driver or just "in general".
Can confirm you are correct, DXVK 1.7.3 fixes the flicker on RDNA2. I can now play the game at 5K resolution without having flicker all over the screen. Before the flicker was insane at these resolutions using VSR.
Cheers.
Users may experience difficulties ending a recording session on Open Broadcaster Softwareโข when recording in H265/HEVC codec on some AMD Graphics products such as Radeonโข RX 6800XT.
Also with H264/AVC.
Recording should finish but you cannot restart recording and OBS will not close properly upon exiting, need to terminate the process manually which is under background processes for some reason after this happens.
I had this problem with 21.6.2 already. Good that it's a known issue though so perhaps fixed down the line.
In general I've found OBS to be picky with driver versions, for example with 21.5.2. I had a bug where display capture would only show a black screen unless you had a fullscreen window or fullscreen app running.
21.5.1., 21.4.x or 21.6.x did not have this issue.

Im gonna try vanilla version to see how it runs. I just like car mods. Vanilla cars suck.
That shouldn't hurt it too much.
Kinda OT, but has anyone succeeded in running R3E (Raceroom, dx9) with dxvk? Under 1.7.3 it runs very slowly (a drop from 145 fps to 40 under the same scenario) and has some render issues like flickering mirrors and a shadow over the track. On a current version it runs considerably faster that stock (>175) but there's the previous bugs + new glitches on the right side of the screen.
Other than an isolated Radeon Software crash on first setup while navigating to the performance tab, these drivers have been fine on my RX480, just like previous 21.7.1 in both AC+csp, ACC, R3E.
WIndows cant verify the digital singnature of of amd link controller emulation with this driver.

No problems on my PC.
Edit: There is a popup during install that I have never seen before asking if I trust AMD to install some driver or something like that. You must click Allow.Maybe you clicked don't allow and that's your issue. I think there is some unsigned driver in this release.

Wanted to mention the 1.9.1 release fixes some asset load lag that was exhibiting in games on Windows. (Don't know about Wine) I also noted that the memory heaps are being better utilized, and probably 2 of them weren't being used with 1.9 ๐ , and thus the lagging.

This drivers are the fastest i have ever tried in 3D benchmarks ๐ , guys test Timespy and compare with your old results 400~500+ points ๐ฑ . Thank you amd driver team ๐ . Now my rx 6900xt scores way faster than my rtx 3090 Strix ๐ , who would it tought amd is faster in benchmarks than nvidia now hahaha ...

You didn't test with 21.7.1 ? Expect another 150-200 points increase with that one. 21.7.2 is slightly worse in timespy ๐
