Hmm... I got a pink screen with purple diagonal lines yesterday, not sure if driver or card failing, either way I haven't seen anything like it before. I was watching Netflix using the Win10 Netflix app, have Edge (Chromium beta) open, Firefox with a Unity web game open playing a web video muted and another Unity win32 game open.
EDIT: This is with a single 1440p monitor.

Just tried VSR for the first time since getting my RX5700 and at any resolution beyond 1080p I just get a black screen instead of the game? If I alt tab then the game is on the background, is this a known issue please? And is there a fix?
I also seem to get a lot of display driver resets and other visual freezes on the desktop.

Thanks for that, I think I'll give 19.7.5 a try to see how well it works, I can enable VSR and then change my desktop resolution and then the game works in the VSR resolution but I'd prefer not to have to do that π

It's worth a try though there have been some good fixes and updates both listed and unlisted in the newer drivers though from testing just dumping the related .dll files in the game folder doesn't seem to do it so it has to be installed in full and might be from the main .sys file instead of the D3D or other API specific .dll files.
It's easy enough to forcibly install it via the device manager but a clean install isn't that much longer and might be a good idea as well plus when deciding to try a newer driver version though I don't believe too many files and registry entries have changed and the regular install updates most of it fairly well as long as the user doesn't jump between the DCH and standard driver modes which have alternate paths and some other differences during install. π
EDIT: That said though for gaming and stability testing I've been using 19.7.5 to make sure there's no issues outside of primarily the GPU clock speeds fluctuating a bit during lower workloads.
I also keep GPU scaling disabled but that's a quirk for this monitor and how it used to restrict to lower resolutions or 3200x1620 I think if added manually instead of the full 3840x2160 though Polaris to Navi now also support 5120x2880
Lower priced average Dell with a Display Port 1.2 connection, also something for testing for building the new system once I can get something a bit newer and modern and seeing if that had any effect.
(Primarily if the funny stuff with display off and on if that then stops the DWM crash issue.)

Since 1909 non Whql drivers cause black screen to me after exiting games. Only windows' update and 19.9.2 Whql provide stability. When we should get a new one?

5 days for Halo: The Master Chief Collection - maybe we are gonna have a driver for this maybe not,
and after that the big update! π

well at least for me this new driver (19.11.3) is the best I have ever used; with my humble equipment looks like a cinema without any errors in games or any applications thank you AMD...

I need stability, I am not happy like you, I cannot debug that random black screen after exiting some games. Horrible and new bug only, never saw this ever. For now I use windows own WHQL driver (26-Sep-19 / 26.20.12037.1000) because it is newer than AMD's 19.9.2.

This seems to be windows bug where when on desktop has 60 hz in gaming with hdmi tries to use 59.94 and you see the black screen. In dvi this problem does not exist and it is the same with nvidia.

most 60hz displays are 59.94 now.
