I know, but I hope they don't forget about first gen RDNA, plus we should not have to wait for further hardware iterations to fix software issues πŸ™
Lets see what big decembar update brings. πŸ˜‰

Hmm... I got a pink screen with purple diagonal lines yesterday, not sure if driver or card failing, either way I haven't seen anything like it before. I was watching Netflix using the Win10 Netflix app, have Edge (Chromium beta) open, Firefox with a Unity web game open playing a web video muted and another Unity win32 game open. EDIT: This is with a single 1440p monitor.

Just tried VSR for the first time since getting my RX5700 and at any resolution beyond 1080p I just get a black screen instead of the game? If I alt tab then the game is on the background, is this a known issue please? And is there a fix? I also seem to get a lot of display driver resets and other visual freezes on the desktop.

Could try without hardware acceleration off first as support for that seemingly keeps getting fixed only to break in a later driver again though there was that, app and the game so might be something else but it's what I would start with.

VSR support is a bit wonky but for Navi it just has certain issues, anything post 19.7.5 here is a compromise on functionality and the current known issues are pretty clear on that plus 19.7.5 itself has broken functionality (Video playback for example.) that got fixed around the 19.8.1 drivers and there's a number of unlisted changes as well though I don't know much on those although a quick one would be to save the default Wattman profile with 19.7.x and then with 19.8.x and a compare should show it's using different values now so that's one thing. If I want to crash DWM it's simple enough to turn off the display on any driver newer than 19.7.5 and on turning it back it doesn't resume right and crashes though it's generally just DWM but a quick error check can occasionally show a Kernel event which would be the driver itself resetting, harmless as long as you double check so it didn't trigger Wattman to restore defaults but it's a problem in newer driver versions here and a irregularity. (Same as so many other Navi issues it also doesn't happen for everybody, easy enough to do again too with default Wattman settings and excluding that as a cause.) No idea why 19.7.5 is relatively stable and the other drivers just keep running into all these other issues though 19.7.5 still has the downclock issue same as the other drivers and stuff not fixed in newer releases plus the rest. (Multi monitor support issues, ReLive issues and Wattman inconsistencies, 75Hz problems and others some fixed, some improved and others just keep being a problem still.) Feels like the GPU's were just released too early and a combined launch with the 5500 or something for Autumn would have been beneficial but then a lot of people are using the GPU seemingly with only the downclock issue which just happens to be how the GPU is operating but then others also say the card is working fine but it black screens so well fine is relative I suppose though it is true there are also those who don't have any stability problems at all with it. Getting nowhere in figuring it out from what I've been reading up and trying to understand, sensitive GPU and a lot of things just go wrong or behave differently plus oddities such as pulling less power but having higher spikes and more demand on motherboard and PSU hardware which is a thing I also don't fully get ha ha. Still good hardware but the driver situation is not really acceptable and makes it hard to recommend the actual card over just picking a 2070 something or less expensive good for until the next graphics card are on the market since it's some 50/50 thing for the card where it might operate fine or it might be the worst card picked ever for the user and there's no clear consistency as to why at least far as I'm piecing together what I'm reading though if it was it'd probably have been resolved by now since testing and replicating the issue would have been much simpler on AMD's side for then fixing it.

Thanks for that, I think I'll give 19.7.5 a try to see how well it works, I can enable VSR and then change my desktop resolution and then the game works in the VSR resolution but I'd prefer not to have to do that πŸ™‚

It's worth a try though there have been some good fixes and updates both listed and unlisted in the newer drivers though from testing just dumping the related .dll files in the game folder doesn't seem to do it so it has to be installed in full and might be from the main .sys file instead of the D3D or other API specific .dll files. It's easy enough to forcibly install it via the device manager but a clean install isn't that much longer and might be a good idea as well plus when deciding to try a newer driver version though I don't believe too many files and registry entries have changed and the regular install updates most of it fairly well as long as the user doesn't jump between the DCH and standard driver modes which have alternate paths and some other differences during install. πŸ™‚ EDIT: That said though for gaming and stability testing I've been using 19.7.5 to make sure there's no issues outside of primarily the GPU clock speeds fluctuating a bit during lower workloads. I also keep GPU scaling disabled but that's a quirk for this monitor and how it used to restrict to lower resolutions or 3200x1620 I think if added manually instead of the full 3840x2160 though Polaris to Navi now also support 5120x2880 Lower priced average Dell with a Display Port 1.2 connection, also something for testing for building the new system once I can get something a bit newer and modern and seeing if that had any effect. (Primarily if the funny stuff with display off and on if that then stops the DWM crash issue.)

On rx580 i have issue in rainbow six siege with VSR resolutions where after alt+tab i'm getting artifacting-like, corrupted image, to workaround it i do alt+enter to switch between fullscreen/windowed and this fixes this glitching for me. Maybe in your case this will help as well. Also worth to check if your display cable is ok, just swap it with other one if you have any available.

Since 1909 non Whql drivers cause black screen to me after exiting games. Only windows' update and 19.9.2 Whql provide stability. When we should get a new one?

Good tip on the cable thanks, I think it's fine but I have plenty so can definitely try another (can also try the other HDMI slot on my monitor).

5 days for Halo: The Master Chief Collection - maybe we are gonna have a driver for this maybe not, and after that the big update! πŸ™‚

well at least for me this new driver (19.11.3) is the best I have ever used; with my humble equipment looks like a cinema without any errors in games or any applications thank you AMD...

In the The Bards Tale IV UE3 or 4 there is small Hair render corruption, besides that, this is one of the best drivers. You can pass this up to driver team (only Hair rest is fine, shimmering on characters hair).

There is also upcoming darksiders genesis and detroit become human in next ten days or so.

I need stability, I am not happy like you, I cannot debug that random black screen after exiting some games. Horrible and new bug only, never saw this ever. For now I use windows own WHQL driver (26-Sep-19 / 26.20.12037.1000) because it is newer than AMD's 19.9.2.

Yeap. Hdmi 1.4@1080p@60hz. Not anything special or extraordinary to force instabilities.

This seems to be windows bug where when on desktop has 60 hz in gaming with hdmi tries to use 59.94 and you see the black screen. In dvi this problem does not exist and it is the same with nvidia.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/273/273678.jpg
most 60hz displays are 59.94 now.
