The Alpha was quite good actually though there are room for improvements. I didnt like the blood splatter on the screenshot with the portal, was very pixelated, other than that everything looks good. I dont pre-order in general but for this game, I wont be able to resist. If I have ONE request its that the 60fps lock is gone! That stuff is just ancient history so lets put that behind us.

Out of curiosity, how many games do you encounter with a 60FPS lock? In most cases, just turn off V-sync and then you can go much higher. If you have something like a 120Hz+ monitor, you probably wouldn't notice any tearing because of that, but I'm not so sure of that myself.

ofc it's not Doom 4 or anything, just "Doom".

They'll need to reduce the hardware requirements for the release version or they won't sell very many copies.

Doom 3 looked amazing for it's time, this on the other hand...it looks like the same thing but im not really impressed about anything else im seeing.

the hardware requirements will be ok come launch day, however they will rely on the community to make texture mods to truly get the best visuals out of this game, just like any other bethesda game in recent years.

Please, for the love of God, let this have multi GPU support from the offset.

If they smart they should do this and tweak the engine that its possible, single GPU is so 2008.

I think he means because previous ID games running on the IDTECH5 engine were all locked at 60fps. ID pushed the whole 60fps and "mega textures" gimmick massively for the engine and hyped it up like it was the second coming or something. It was ok back in 2008/2011 but recently this is one of main thing's that has turned me off Wolfenstien, I love the game don't get me wrong they are awesome and fun but the 60fps lock the engine forces on you is just absurd for today's PC gaming market. I have said it before and I will say it again, this is my most anticipated game of 2016 so far. However, if they do not remove the 60fps lock in the new engine (IDTECH6) then I shall boycott this game completely and move on.

Man this takes me back to playing the Original Doom. The graphics look very well done. Doom3 looked impressive for its time back when it was new. This looks very impressive to me.
It will never have support for 4 way sli :infinity: as expected very little users have 4 way sli compared to other gamers with single card so nobody want to bother
But there are more users who are using at least 2 cards. So having multi GPU support isn't a bad idea here.

They manage to turn BJ into a character with some depth and a great story and top shooting so i´m curious to see if they manage to do it justice. But it´s Doom, i´ll have to try it; that part in the doom 3 when the first big dog monster slamed into the small room was like the scariest thing ever for this kid at the time. 🤓
Wolfenstein was made by Machine Games, not id.

Console fanboys are rubbing their hands in anticipation while the rest of us are dreading this pc port.
I think this topic proves opposite of that.

Just like CPC_RedDawn said, it's more about Bethesdas history regarding 60fps locks. Even the recent Fallout 4 has a build in lock (which is fixable by modding but still). Wolfenstein and Rage are hard locked at 60fps and no matter what you do with V-sync, it will still be locked at 60.

Wonder if they have switched from OpenGL to Direct X yet?
Yet? Why would they switch to DX? Vulcan (OpenGL) is a much better option, it just requires more coding effort.
