how about little extreme of 3 hours IBT @ 100% load to test the quality of cpu, psu,MB, not just 6G mark achievement.

Damn. But thats with LN2 or some kind of extreme liquid cooling so no normal user would get their chips that high.

5.7GHz at 1KW, that should be 800+ AMPs @.1.55V for 6.1GHz, I am surprised LGA socket pins did not melt.
Silva:

It's irrelevant how much one can push it, or how much the chip consumes doing it. I'd love to know how the motherboard didn't blow up though, a CPU using 1Kw sounds extreme to me.
DLD:

Such amount of ampers should have destroyed the current paths (conductors) to and through CPU/mobo CPU socket within a 100th of a second.
on extreme OC you directely put the electricity to CPU by moding the motherboard, with external PSU/VRM, also on LN2 you heat the mobo to minimise thermal shock, and you have not only one mobo and CPU (because you are rich and or because of "gift" from maker) to replace crushed one, and finaly it's like motorsport... i have around 300HP in my track car, the original engine is only 120HP: but you cannot compare them one is for few track day by year and one is for lasting for a minimum of 300000km... those mobo and CPU are dead after that use.

What a fucking waste.
