Dark Souls is known for being a RageQuitSimulator™ - hate follows it everywhere. Those of us who dig it can just appreciate that we're better than all the haters and enjoy the games. We know what's up.

Well I like many others find the Souls games very fun, but I guess the whole world revolves around your opinion. Everyone stop buying Souls games! CPC_RedDawn said they aren't fun and you know his opinion is what matters!

Not necessarily just calling out this game, but why does anyone get at all excited about seeing "Screenshots" of pre-release games anymore?
Seriously, I don't trust ANY screenshot anymore.. practically every game releasing nowadays doesn't look like screenshots and videos provided to build hype.
All this serves to do is lie to us all as gamers.. I'm pretty much at the point where I've stopped looking at them completely along with already having boycotted pre-ordering games.. this $hit has to stop.

Souls/Bloodborne games are about challenge, game mechanics and lore (game inmersion).
Graphics are a very secondary aspect in these games and we are on PC after all: mods could (and did) fix the more offending aspects (low res, AA, ect).
Screenshots are great but i want to see more videos like this two in game where we can see the lore and game mechanic:

I liked the more gothic Bloodborne like look and his faster and more agressive fight system.

I assume all screenshots are photoshopped marketing hype BS. But I like seeing what the art direction, environment design, enemies, etc. look like.
In terms of expectations, I have none until I see a first impressions video from someone like TB or Giant Bomb. We've seen too many downgrades, or games that looked great, but were totally crap on the performance side. I just don't care anymore until I am able to see the game running and then go buy it.

I hear you. What gets to me though is how many people will base their opinions and judgements on games on account of said screenshots and touched up media.
It skews gamer's perceptions and undeniably influences people's positions and judgements, which leads to all sorts of online arguments, misinformation, and misunderstanding.
All of which, I might add, is great for the game devs and publishers since we're all still talking about their game, good or bad.. no such thing as bad publicity amirite?
I dunno.. Just really dislike the direction this industry has taken. Its been so watered down, and we've been so conditioned to just accept that it is how it is, so long as we can pre-order and get that extra weapon skin "Its all good!"

Well, if those people are addicted to their hopes and dreams and don't want to face reality, that's their problem. It only takes one or two games that really disappoint to make most people wise up to how Publishers market their games pre-release.
And anyone who's pre-ordering get's what they deserve. Seriously - I have no sympathy anymore. Hell, I'm cynical enough I almost feel the same about people who buy a game at release. I've just seen too many games launch with problems to trust that the game is truly finished when it comes out. I'd rather wait a couple weeks for a patch and maybe a discount.
That said, I'm a single-player gamer these days. So it's easy for me to wait when I don't have a group of friends all planning to jump in and play together ASAP. Gotta check my privilege there.

I´m sorry but i have to disagree and correct you in this aspect. People like the Soul´s games because they are amazing not because they are extremely hard or something like that. The creepy atmosphere is there to create an amazing experience that you can play through instead of being another generic game. Also evertything is the game is made to provide a better gameplay instead of being there because it´s cool...
The gameplay being hard is just a small aspect of the game.
Believe me, the Soul´s series are some of better games ever made and much better than 95% of the crap that is released nowadays.
It´s a shame that so many people avoid Demon/Souls games because they´re afraid that the games are extremely hard. Something that´s false, the games are hard, nothing more.

These games are gems, especially the first one and this one is being directed by the same guy who did the original so it should be amazing.

Loved all these games, wish bloodborne would come to pc, no need to buy a ps4 except for bloodborne. I guess I'll buy a PS4 when the FF7 remake comes out and buy a used copy of bloodborne for $10.

Bloodborne is a Sony game for PS4, it will never comes to PC.
Like Demon Souls in PS3.
These are real exclusives not XBOX "exclusives".
I only hope DS3 is not suffering the DS2 DLC/DX11 versions mess.

Once the game is multi the base is normally for consoles and then adapted (ported) to PC.
That means you played only the very few exclusive PC AAA titles latelty..

Well, there's hope yet that this will remedy the mess DS2 was.
Either way, we shall see come April, insofar it'll not be pushed back.
