Shame but I'd recommend a tape measure and see what or if pushed you could get in there the 32" does make a huge difference. I just can't go back to 27" now!

Anything bigger than 27" (which I plan to buy next year) and I would have to sit further back with my keyboard and mouse on my lap LOL. Not to mention I have a phone, speakers and subwoofer on my desk so I barely have the width for a 27". Plus at 1440p on a 32" the PPI would be worse than I'm used to. Might as well make it 4K at that size, IMO.

I have one of those L shaped tables in the corner of my room tucked away in the corner it's old and beaten but still stands perfect! I got the monitor for 300 earlier this year so for now I'm happy but love the size!

I could maybe squeeze a 34-36" monitor. Too my left I even have another 32" tv with my Raspberry pi on and a custom arcade stick with the arcade patterns on ( get them on Ebay)

These are not universal settings. Your monitor may have other "distortions". But if you insist, I can share these settings with you 🙂

Nice review 1USMUS, good to see the extra lengths you went to in your review re colour calibration results as well as colour analysis of the screen modes in their default state...I also appreciated the BlurBusters UFO testing - as a high refresh rate gamer myself who also calibrates his screen using a colorimeter (Spyder4Pro) I appreciate and understand the technical detail you went into in this review...this style of monitor review is definitely up-my-street! I do have a couple of questions. I noticed there was an overclocking section in the screen menus - what kind of overclocking options does this monitor have, e.g. can you overclock it above 170Hz? I've got a TN g-sync monitor which is overclockable in the menu from the default 144Hz to 160/170/180Hz, but I've noticed both visually & through colorimeter measurements of contrast that the contrast takes a massive nosedive as refresh rate increases - is that the case with this monitor you reviewed? (In fact my monitor has it's highest contrast ratio below the default refresh rate at a refresh rate of 100Hz). And finally, my last question, do you have much experience of different types of high refresh rate panel technology, because I want to ask what your personal impressions are regarding blurring when comparing high refresh rate TN panels vs high refresh rate IPS (ie this monitor you reviewed)? (and how about your experience with VA panels & blurring?)

I'm glad you liked it. OC parameters : 140 , 155 , 160 ,165 and 170Hz. About the contrast: I used 170Hz to calibrate, and that contrast value exceeded passport specifications. I didn't check what happens at a low Hz value. About the speed of the panel technology. I have experience with low speed IPS and VA, so I can't talk confidently about gaming products. In future materials I plan to improve the section with Blur testing and there will also be Input lag tests.

I bought my Dell U2711 27" IPS monitor 10 years ago and it's still a great screen, I guess I was an early 1440 adopter (and don't you just pay for that privilege?!). So it might be that this Asus screen is a better 1440 one than my U2711 which is limited to 60hz refresh but I have no interest in a small improvement. I'd love a ROG 30-32" 4K 120hz screen to go with a custom 3080Ti. I will get the card by the end of 2020 and will wait for the 4K 120hz monitor. NVidia's monopoly has really held back progress with higher refresh 4K screens, great shame. I have my gaming stuff on a separate table in my study so I'm lucky enough to be able to accommodate a 32" screen. I have just upgraded my laptop to a 15" Gigabyte i7 9750 AMOLED 4K and I tried out its 2070 yesterday. Hilarious that was, had to squint at the tiny screen to see where the baddies were, LOL. It just felt so small compared to the U2711 27" screen.

Yeah I hear you. I have been considering wall mounting my Audioengine speakers to make a little more room.

1440p for that price = a no for me. As for this talk about not being able to find desk that could work as a gaming desk and work desk I can already think of 2 off the top of my head that are around $400 and would be just fine. They are sold as gaming desk but have the space for working on them with a large screen or multiple monitors. Also while I had trouble with an old workstation / gaming station I had that I love it easily held 32" to 47" or 49" tvs but unfortunately even with an addon I could buy from Amazon it would have left my current 43" monitor / tv too close to my face and the reason is these new legs on the tvs. Good move maybe as it gets more people buying monitors but quite frankly I saw a tv I would have spent more on recently than the one I have so maybe not a good move by them. Anyway at least with this monitor it looks like it could fit on any desk. Also as for this monitor the HDR 400 .... I have heard that 600 should be the minimum to get real pop and quality for all that is HDR but the fact is I got that from a Sony tv not long ago that could not qualify for HDR 400. It had a 10 bit panel but did not make full use of it I guess. Anyway also in regards to G-Sync and Free-Sync and the Kitchen-Sync / rolls eyes I hope one day this all goes away and we get a standard version. I am tired of dealing with that added feature I need to look for. As for the refresh rate definitely impressive with this monitor. Anyway thanks for the review oh and you also show the recalibration of the monitor and I got to say while that is all good and dandy when I find recommendations on other sites it tells you it gets rid of this feature or that feature and only works with this type of connection or that type of connection and it is frustrating. Nothing worse than to calibrate something and find it has reset itself to it's original state.
