priced right and specs are nice, but that was all ruined by the fact it ips. VA>TN for me OLED if they didnt cost 2~3x times price for 55~50 TV OLED for 27" I got Eye on AOC 27 VA monitor

get the one with mini-leds it leaves someone having to double the price to get better

1) i'm spoiled by my ROG pg42 OLED 2) prices are meh! because at the same price range (or less) you can get a 576 zone mini-led with either IPS or VA. the IPS has a wider viewing angle (and no off-axis color shift) but the VA has greater HDR (natively higher contrast helps w/ that) and the latest gen VA doesn't have the smearing or overshoot of the older panels. the real deal is that the larger the panel size for VA, the more noticeable the off-axis performance is (and oh baby there are big ass TVs w/ VA panels + mini-leds) so for most folks topping out at 27" or 32" the VA is a good alternative btw... there is no "IPS glow" with mini-leds, that's an artefact of edge lighting

hmm good to know if i go back to looking at IPS i will look for mini leds, but i kinda surpised any mini led is price of AOC i looked at

looking at the Q27G3XMN model, plan to order one when i head back NC and have access to my own system again.

you're in luck - it has mini-leds but it only has a 336 zone lighting scheme - still a huge improvement over edge lighting check out Innocn and KTC as well - they have very nice mini-led monitors for a reasonable price (and a 576 zone array - the larger the array the less chance of "haloing" bright spots)

@tunejunky in the end i would probably turn off the local dimming I dont like seeing that change even on my tv which will dim scene depending on lighting and how bright dark scene is i find it distracting and why is off on y my tv, which still blow my current monitor darks out of the water, it more of it only VA panel i seen in years that dont suck horrible from response time or over shoot issue even at 60hz. 250$ is what i payed for my current monitor and i can get that for same price, would love to stick with Asus but Only VA i seen them make either have horrible response and overshoot issue and if dont it well out my price range.

nah just use auto-HDR there are more benefits than losses with local dimming even for SDR content. but try it 1st because the more zones there are the better the effect and this is the best VA generation ever so overshoot and smear (which lighting zones minimize) are less than before. i had an enthusiast grade 34" 1440p VA at enthusiast dollars 10 years ago i only kept for two months because of the smearing and the AOC is less than 1/2 the price w/o that problem
