I was not expecting results that good. The 5900X is 4c/8t less than the 3950X yet offers almost the same performance. These models have 3 chiplets (including the IO die) right? Aren't some models like the 3800X supposed to have 2? Because if so, I sure am excited to see the results of those.
No, 2 chiplets (ccx) of 8 cores each, with 2 cores disabled on each ccx on the 5900x. The 5800x will be a single 8 core ccx.

a small typo, i think: `2 loads + 1 cycle per store` is `2 loads + 1 store per cycle` @Hilbert Hagedoorn

5800x could be the fastest of the bunch. Cant wait for the review.

Right, but isn't there a 3rd for the IO die? Since the 5800X will only have a single CCX, that's what I'm most interested in.

That means Your stores do not share global logistics centers. I shop with guys that use EU's warehouses. And supply there is just fine. And I was F*ing tempted to buy when I saw those numbers in tests.
I will get Zen3 eventually. I'm on first gen Ryzen and would like to reuse my rather nice 32GB of Samsung b-die which I know Zen4 is likely going DDR5. I usually wait about 3 months before I buy into a new architecture especially from AMD as they tend to have a bit more early teething issues.

they beat Intel but they did not obliterate them like they needed to. I was expecting a no contest win. This is coming from someone who loves his 3700X. Still being able to say AMD is the fastest does feel good again.

Same. Albeit its binned lower with the lower boost clock so there is some trade off. I wouldn't have minded paying $500 for a higher binned and higher clocked 8-core 5850.

I have no idea if you can order it outside of Hungary, but all 4 models are shippable tomorrow. All have 5+ in stock https://www.alza.hu/amd-ryzen-5000-processzorok/18882500.htm All 4 are offering Far Cry 6 with the purchase.
A warning: the store told me that I need to reclaim the Far Cry 6 key in 10 days from the time that I received the order - after that time interval the key will become invalid....

Seems like this CPU equals the 10900k in gaming ( and so the 5800x will do ) while being way better at other things ( kraken, 7zip ). I can't wait to grab a 5800x in place of the 2700x

Zen1 was not good enough for me. Zen+ and Zen2 was fine. This is great. And I kind of made decision to stay with 3900X and 4x8GB (Samsung b-die too) till AM5 drops on us. But those numbers are really tempting.

There is nothing wrong with TPup testing, it's just I linked the 1440p which is closer to what gaming is these days rather than 1080p. Regardless, it's still no upgrade from my i7 for games, rather invest the money in a better video card.
People give me laughs. In past, requesting 720p as they needed to see that advantage their intel chips provided in situation when paired with strongest GPU (they did not own anyway). Now, intel no longer has lead and it looks like even 1080p results are not welcome. Maybe there will be arguments that CPU test should be run only on 4K as 3090 is 4K oriented GPU. 😀 = = = = When anti-AMD posters turn their strategy by 180°, they are basically telling that AMD won.

True, but I think eliminating an entire die could make up for the difference in clock speed. I'd gladly sacrifice some peak performance for improved efficiency and increased minimum performance.

All gone lol
5600X, 5800X and 5950X is 5+ in stock.

Tbh 1440p isn't closer to what gaming these days is. Especially on high level. But anyway it seems Linuses testing the new ryzens were also all on top. Legit tho I have 3900x and I don't see any point upgrading except maybe for that SAM when I get the 6900xt. But that is about it. As my res is 5120x1440...

What I noticed: stores that did not impose a limit on number of cpu's bought were out of stock in minutes - scalpers hand??? The only stores that have the cpu in stock are the ones that imposed a limit of one cpu per client. I talked with a friend that works in the supply chain and he told me that 5900X stock is more than enough to meet demand and 5950X is a bit short but the stock will be more than enough by the end of this month.
