Is Crimson driver good for older video cards like R9 270x? I'm still on 15.11.1beta

I am using it and its great for my 270X. Comparing Crimson to a year old driver gave me quite decent boost even though my GPU is now downclocked by 10MHz.

Tiny gain, i would say in margin of error.
Thief benchmark problem which i had with 16.4.2 seems to be specific only to 16.4.2 as with any other driver i do not have it.

Currently i'm playing mostly borderlands the pre-sequel and Shadwen. On new driver i played Shadwen now and it works fine, as Frozenbyte games usually do. GPU intensive, can work properly paired with almost any cpu (utilize up to 4 cores and even if i downclock to 1,4GHz fps is almost the same as on 3,5GHz).
Pre-sequel i will be playing later, tonight but borderlands series is ue3 with physx which means it will never run properly on any hardware and software. For example people with 5960x and sli of 980ti have dips under 60fps, especially when physx is set to ultra. I'm not playing with physx of course.
And as i stated already thief benchmark is fixed to me now.

I'm playing now only one game (16.5.1) Heroes VII.
But i will Play some in SW BF and BF4/H (for BF4/ and H on Origin is Promo for Free DLC), but it will be OK i think ;-)

You should try Shadwen, this is very unique take on stealth games. Beta demo is available on steam. Release of full version is soon, some day in May.

Today finally they specified release date, it is May 17th. Game will be available on windows, mac os x and linux since release, demo also already is available on these 3 OS-es. For now i can say this game works on linux amazingly with amd gpu-pro driver.
For many people it may be difficult to get used to unique mechanic in this game, still, totally worth to try.

Im actually gonna VSR 4k on my tv since the highest I can go is 3360x1440 on my ultrawide.
Gonna test 16.4 vs this @ 4k in firestrike and a few game benches.

Lol... even after unticking Raptr it installs it anyways...
Went to check what they updated and see this in Raptr changenotes: "In game overlay has been removed to improve program and computer performance".
Yet Raptr still causes issues with some games and AMD still list it as a known issue...

If you do use Crimson on your 58xxM, pay attention to your fan speeds. I found the 16.2.1 beta that allowed for legacy devices disabled my GPU fan, as it never ramps up on load. I hit 100C on a old game title, normally I don't go over 82C on anything. (Asus G73JH w/ 5870M)
