Let hope they fix their horrendous crossfire issues in hardware this time. I believe I read somewhere that was their goal but I'll believe it when I see it. The 7970 was the last straw for me which pushed my back to nvidia. DP performance is completely irrelevant in the context of gaming. If AMD puts silicone towards DP performance then it'll be sacrificing gaming performance for DP compute performance ( completely irrelevant to 99.99% of all computer users). Not to mention that DP performance is artificially limited at driver level for consumer level cards so they can sell Quadros/FirePros/Teslas at much higher margins.

Oh but AMD did include DP in 7970, that was my whole point mentioning this in the first place.. @Blackops2 I meant Titan with 1000$ and this new AMD R9 would be at least ~20% faster then Titan/780GTX since its around the same, idk if its 280x or 290x - a 7970 successor, old name 9970. And you still think it will be max 780GTX? common get real, that can sometimes be a OC'ed 7970Ghz ~1200mhz. Why would AMD make such a minimal refresh and then include 50% more ROPs, more raster engines, texture units, 25-45% more cores and other GCN2 optimizations. There was this news once it might fall between 780GTX and Titan but it was just some random leak, nothing more.

Well apparently the rumor was true, AMD Hawaii GPU has (supposedly) 512-bit interface and 4GB memory according to leaked photos. AMD’s Radeon R9 290X equipped with Hawaii XT GPU is said to have at least 2560 ****** Processors. Some claim it will have 2816, which is not exactly confirmed. In fact the information we have indicates that the full Hawaii GPU will go straight to FirePro model, whereas the 2560 edition will be used with the flagship Radeon. That’s the rumor of course. I could not verify anything because AMD is very quiet about their new release. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to count the memory modules. You can easily find sixteen 256MB modules with a total capacity of 4GB, but that’s not all, since the PCB could provide additional space on the back, with dual-sided memory, 8GB does it sound good? Nevertheless, 4GB memory size obviously suggest 512-bit memory bus. Additionally we have a picture from Twitter where Johan Andersson (Technical Director on Frostbite at DICE) claims that he got a sample straight from AMD. If that’s true then he is in a big trouble right now. However it wouldn’t be surprising if this would be a controlled leak. Do you remember the HD 7990 leaked by… DICE? The leaked picture of the cooler suggest it’s a blower type without much happening on the top. It actually looks like an engineering sample, rather than a actual reference design.

Like allways, without having the real final specs this 25th, dont believe all, i will be surprised if they really come with a 512bit memory controller.

Ah was just gonna post THIS, but seems im to late to be the first to post it lol.. Im likeing the 512 bit and 4gb of ram. kinda wonder if they will make a model that is 6 or 8gb of ram?

lol Fellix, i was coming post the same camera shoot. Anyway, hard to call it a fake now.... Nice clean PCB. - ( 512bits + 4gb ( and possibly 8GB and 16GB on some configuration ( FirePro ) ). ( ofc if this info is really confirmed. ). - Same size of Tahiti / 7970 - 8+6pin - 6+2 PWM - 16 memory IC. - Dual bios switch. - certainly 48ROPS ( not 64, as AMD use a Crossbar for it, they can use 48ROPS )
