http://imgur.com/a/pyC3r The price is definitely nice. I hope it kicks the entire range of cards down a bit. I really wanted something new this summer, but I can't justify spending $650+ on it. Now that EK isn't making EVGA blocks, I basically need an 1080FE to do water cooling. Screw spending $700 on that.
There are differences, you are right. I hope that it was a mistake and that the actual numbers are real. You can literally get four of these for the price of a 1080 FE on the street, which is completely ridiculous. I don't believe it will do that. It might take a lot of share from people like me who where on the cusp of getting a 1070, but this thing probably will cost 2/3 of a good 1070, even on its most expensive implementations.
That rx480 seemed pretty lame... Of course an ashes of singularity benchmark. But with lower settings and a dual gpu against a single gtx1080?
While costing a bit more than half of it.

$400 vs $700 I guess.

The 8GB version must be $250.

Ah good point.

The slide was saying <$500 I believe. I might be wrong. Still in that ballpark.

You're right. Yeah, somewhere around there.

This isn't even to mention that there are higher clocked 1080 models at lower price points than the FE already on sale. But really it's Nvidia's fault for pricing the FE so high, of course everyone is going to compare everything to that.

I hope it retails here for AUD $379.00. That will certainly will be my next upgrade from AMD 7850!!! Double the ram! Direct conversion at the moment is $274 however our wages are high so you need to factor in all the costs.

Yes, the 29 sadly. (finally got a link of the back who work there ) http://images.techhive.com/images/article/2016/05/9310_ellesmere_cam4_02_0010_4k-100663926-large.png Honestly, im more intersted on GP102 and Vega. ( if i dont need a cheap replacement )
I have a single 7970 and I would wait if I hadn't multi-baked it already. I'm waiting for architecture reviews. If they manage to "feed" the card better and it OCs a bit, it's a winner in that price. The raw power is (as usual with AMD) there.

Well, the teraflop are there. What's left to see is how accessible they are and how it overclocks.

Honestly, seems like a fantastic price. Plus it lowers the VR threshold to 200 USD. Good job AMD. Also a nice looking card.

What happens to the 390/X and 970 price once it's released I wonder.

A series 7th generation APUs mentioned. Polaris is mentioned. claiming similar performance. Hilbert as always knowing more than he tells, did you get one already? 🤓 seams to me AMD had to go on stage with something, before they become even less relevant in the market, even if it meant lower quality in test, they even called Microsoft on stage :3eyes: and the ZEN again...WE NEED BENCHMARKS!!! let the numbers talk... we need details other wise by Q4 who ever was planing on an upgrade will already be upgraded, or by then it's gonna will see how it compares to the 7th gen Intel core. guess its till end of June before RX480hits the shelves probably with 4GB at first then we can compare, still almost compares To a GTX 980..that is lame, ya sure play on the efficiency vs price, still compares to a year an some old card performance wise. OK already late for work got to run :infinity:

So did I get this right, they did not bring anything about the 490(X), and they ran a demo at different settings then compared it to a card that's faster but costs more in cfx? And still not much on Zen, besides thinking to bring m$ on stage and thinking this would bring them sympathies... Or did I miss something major?

They have uploaded the presentation already. https://youtu.be/ZwlQvjwYFEM?t=15m55s Well that was underwhelming. Sure great price, but hell no i go buy two cards to get some relevant performance. Can't wait for some actual benchmarks. Make the Nvidia/Intel drop the price again 😀

The ashes 'benchmark' was clearly not the same quality level so I have no idea what they were trying to accomplish there
What choice did they have? People would have complained even more if they had used an old 28nm Maxwell as a comparison. 1070 couldn't have been available when they made the presentation. So, it was only possible to use 1080, yet it's the top of the line card that costs multiple times more, not a very cheap mainstream card. To put those two together in a contest was flawed from the very beginning, but it was the only option since Nvidia decided to release the best first and AMD decided to release the cheap first.

I think you missed the price through all that saltiness..
