i think it will be the same as with firestrike. 1080p free, everything above pay. that's basically also their only effective way of advertising the product.
Sounds reasonable. Let's hope you are right.

yup, it's a hope. i doubt they get more sales if they don't offer it though. that's the reason i think they will offer it. because the freebie bench is needed to fill their databases with some numbers for a start... 🙂 else the 12 peeps who bought it will say... "hey i paid money and where are my comparisons now?!"

nostalgia, since 1998, and I've tested them all, ya I'm that old 🤓 great discount on steam, hope this new bench is going to be part of the existing 3dmark and not a part of something new.

Now... how about a Vulkan version of this benchmark eh?

3DMark Time Spy Time Spy is a DirectX 12 benchmark test for gaming PCs running Windows 10. With its pure DirectX 12 engine, built from the ground up to support new API features like asynchronous compute, explicit multi-adapter, and multi-threading, Time Spy is the ideal benchmark for testing the DirectX 12 performance of the latest graphics cards. This optional upgrade is for people who bought 3DMark before July 14, 2016. It unlocks additional features and settings, but it is not required to run Time Spy benchmark tests. Time Spy upgrade Unlock Time Spy custom benchmark settings. Unlock the Time Spy Stress Test. Unlock the option to skip the Time Spy demo.
EDIT: Ah it's 3DMark itself that's been updated and this is a upgrade "DLC" of sorts for extra features for new customers who didn't receive them for free as a sort of loyalty bonus or what to call it. 🙂

DLC is for full version of Time Spy (custom settings unlock) Demo is available for free for everyone and there is no "loyalty bonus" as far as I can see. If you buy 3DMark now, you get full Time Spy, if you bought it before, you have to upgrade with DLC to unlock all features 🙂

wow GTX 970 1550mhz vs R9 390 1100mhz are interesting results
The 980-Ti is 1500Mhz core, and yet, the 1070 is above, damn :/

Hopefully it scales with 18 cores... will find out when I get home 🤓

It's a benchmark so it should at least use some more CPU cores than the average 4 or so in actual games (Well it's starting to improve a bit.) but that many might be more than needed by the game. 😀 Benchmark itself is up on Steam now as a free download as well instead of that content unlock DLC I linked to believing to be said benchmark initially. 🙂 http://store.steampowered.com/app/496100/ EDIT: Ah it's a Xeon "server" CPU, I was wondering if it was some form of hyper threading but I haven't heard of any nine-core CPU's, closest odd-number one is probably AMD's five core, was it? (And for Intel it's up to ten processors now so seen as 20 with HT although since those cores don't clock too well a lower-end six-core might end up faster at least in gaming due to focus still being mainly on quad or sometimes even dual core primarily.)
