It must be a measurement of combination of things since 7700k and 1800x @ same clock speed, 7700k gets a little better single score in cinebench. I have no idea what though, I don't use geekbench
It probably means that since the load is single threaded, a single core can have access to a huge amount of L3 with very little contention.

It is impressive indeed. However if you take a Ryzen 7 1800X it scores 5000 points SC and anywhere close-to 30000 points with just 8 cores / 16 threads at 3775 MHz. https://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/search?dir=desc&q=ryzen+1800x&sort=score

Nice. Shows Intel has a lot in the pupeline. ... and... In your face, all those Intel-is-doomed sayers!
Following Ryzen release, Intel prices have not budged! So instead of "GAME OVER", it's more like "just another day in the office"

Will be interesting to see how this compares to the monsterous 4ghz 24core ibm power9 cpus launching this year, one thing is certain , server competition is fierce in 2017.

It's good that AMD is forcing Intel to up their game in all segments. I especially like the part where Intel initially announced 28 core, but are coming out with 32 core part. Their plan was to add 5% of performance every year and charge arm & leg for these processors. Now they have to follow what AMD is doing (naples 32 core)

Skylake/Kabylake going do nothing, actual RyZen tecnology is superior for servers, can have lot of cores, clock speed and efficiency, Intel is time to upgrade proces
