This is good news 🙂 I paid $50 for my Intel 320 128gb ssd brand new in early 2014. I just want a 256gb ssd for BF3, BF4, NFS Shift, GTA4, GTA5, Arma games and a few others. But just cant justify over $100 for one.

My first SSD was a 80GB Kingston, somwhere arround 2009. It as for OS only but damn it made huuuge difference, but at a hefty cost. Then in 2013 I bought a replacement Corsair Force Series GT 120GB, it's not only a bit faster but I actually manage to squeeze 2-3 games in it as well. I would LOVE to have all my games on SSDs but my Steam/Origin/Uplay libraries are just under 1.5TB... so yeah, looking forward to cheaper SSDs and the days when I can afford to have all my games on them. 🙂
I have a 1tb just for games that inlcude Origin. My steam games on on their own 640gb. Wish I could get a 1tb ssd that didnt cost as much as my rig.

The cheapest 256GB SSD available to me is the Crucial MX100 for $145 I can't see the price just dropping like that : /

I hope this doesn't end up like bill gates stating 640kb ram is plenty

1. Bill Gates never said that. 2. Even if he did say that, he was right (at the time). That was plenty of memory for any home or office PC. Even if Bill said/agreed to the statement, I think he would conclude that it doesn't reflect the demands of the future. 3. There are people in these forums who would argue 0.5TB isn't enough for the average person. 4. Not sure what that quote has to do with the prices of SSDs dropping.

Wowo how about that.... I clearly remember being the first kid on the block with my two 120gb vertex turbos that set me back a whopping $525 a piece.....:bang:! Raided them since day one and have never looked back on anything less albeit obvious upgrades to my vertex 4's in a raid 0.

Some retailers think reduced price = higher profit margin, so the savings aren't passed on to customers as they should be.

Been using SSD's for 4 years now. Got 2x Crucial 512GB SSD's in RAID 0 for my main drive and another 1TB Samsung Evo 840 SSD as my backup drive. Love the speedy performance
