More devices similar to the Steam Deck are in the works, according to Valve, according to an interview with the firm. Anyhow, this is not a device that is intended for the purpose of streaming games from your own computer.

According to Valve designer Greg Coomer, devices like as the Steam Deck "offer long-term benefits for Valve." "We have aspirations that this will become a true market with various alternatives for consumers in it," he says.

The only thing Valve isn't working on is a device that would stream games. It's possible that another manufacturer will develop a handheld device that has long battery life and can stream games from another PC. We are not planning anything like that at the moment, but it's possible that another manufacturer will. You'll have lower costs, longer battery life, and a very different architecture, technically speaking." The Steam Deck does support Remote Play, which allows players to play games from another PC from their Steam account. Since the unveiling, Valve has stated that it intends to introduce a new category of mobile gaming PCs to the market. The business is hopeful that other manufacturers would follow suit and create similar devices running SteamOS.

Valves first gaming handheld, the Steam Deck, is equipped with an AMD APU with Zen 2 cores and an RDNA 2 GPU, 16GB of Lpddr5 memory, and a 7-inch LCD with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Steam Deck will be available for purchase in December, with the first units shipping in December.
