Thief will not ship with Mantle support

As AMD recently has proven, Mantle can bring a significant performance improvement towards compatible games. one game that will support Mantle will be Thief. Unfortunately, at launch time there will be no support.  Thief is due to launch in North America on the February 25th. Eidos however has shared a note where it states that that Thief won’t be shipping with Mantle support and TruAudio. more after the break.

Here's that note:

Important Update Regarding Mantle and TrueAudio

THIEF is a showcase for the awesome gaming performance offered by the PC and we’ve worked hard with AMD to accomplish that, by collaborating on the implementation of several PC-specific features. This includes AMD TrueAudio technology, AMD CrossFire™ technology, AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology and more. As you know, THIEF will also be one of the first games to ship that takes advantage of AMD’s Mantle graphics API.

We’re extremely proud of the work we’ve done with AMD to make the PC version of THIEF a stand-out, definitive experience although we have a little more work to do to accommodate all of these new PC-specific features – we are busy working on a patch to support AMD’s Mantle and TrueAudio technologies that is scheduled for March. We’re confident this patch will ensure the best and fastest THIEF experience for AMD Radeon™ customers. We’re sorry we couldn’t bring this to you sooner – although we will use this time to bring you the very best experience possible and will let you know when the patch is ready.

We’re happy to say that the AMD CrossFire™ technology and AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology will be fully functional when THIEF launches on the 25th February in North America and 28th February in Europe and other associated territories.

elow are the full specifications for Thief on Windows PC, of which aren’t so demanding. Additionally the game will feature 4K resolution support as well as Nvidia SLi and 3D vision support:

Honestly the game runs on UE3. That engine runs fairly well across the board. And the PC port devs are Nixxes which made the Hitman, Tomb Raider and Deus Ex ports and they all turned out pretty solid.

im not saying the game will not run great from the getgo even with dx11 i am confident that it will run sweet and the sound well i have a great sound card so i dont need that true audio from graphics card anyway.....

im just posting the information and for yet again we the customer was promised something and yet again the gamer has to wait for that said support until a month later and by that time we all the consumer/gamer will have already completed the game by then... so there for whats the point lol

yeah im sick and tired of games coming out that are half arsed and piss poor ports when the company can take there time and release games that are COMPETE technically and don't require patches on launch for how ever long it takes they should release when they have it right not when its the best time to fill there pockets.

You will always get people who are impatient though hence why we the gamer/customers have to put up with this crap every year nothing changes and i don't expect anything to change.
