But pricing and release date are still missing. Sony revealed the new look of the new PlayStation 5 in a live stream on Thursday evening. It has not yet been announced what the game console will cost.

The console is in the same style as the DualSense controller Sony first showed earlier this year. The console has a black base with white side panels. There is blue lighting in between. The console can be placed upright or lying down.

Sony releases two versions of the console. One with disk drive and a digital version without disk drive. Only games can be downloaded on it. Sony has not yet announced a price for the PlayStation 5. Hardware designer Mark Cerny said late last year that Sony wants to keep the price "attractive". The estimates online are somewhere between 499 and 599 euros. This would make the game console more expensive than the PlayStation 4, which initially sold for 399 euros. The release of PlayStation 5 is planned for the holidays at the end of 2020. In the same period, the new Xbox Series X would come on the market. A specific release date is not yet known.

In the presentation of Sony, various games were also presented for the new PlayStation. Including Gran Turismo 7 , a new Ratchet & Clank game and a sequel to the popular Dutch game Horizon: Zero Dawn. In addition to new games, the PlayStation 5 can also play "most" games that have appeared for the PlayStation 4.

Below a photo, also one of the upcoming Xbox for a bit of comparison.
