Shuttle Releases 43 millimetres Mini-PC

Shuttle Releases 43 millimetres Mini-PC

Shuttle releases their DH270 with H270 chipset. The unit includes HDMI 2.0 and is ready for socket LGA 1151 desktop processors.

The case design has proven to be successful since the DS61, the first model with dimensions of 19 x 16.5 x 4.3 cm (DWH). The space-saving steel chassis can withstand ambient temperatures of up to 50°C and, thanks to the VESA bracket and various threaded holes, it is also suitable for individual mounting options on screens and surfaces. The operating position is flexible and can be horizontal or vertical.

As well as offering space for one 2.5-inch drive and one NVMe SSD, the XPC Barebone DH270 also provides two SO-DIMM slots for up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory. Any Intel Core processors (LGA1151) from the seventh and sixth generation with up to 65 Watt TDP are suitable. There is a total of two M.2 slots on the mainboard, 1x M.2-2280 and 1x M.2-2230, which can be used for an SSD and WLAN module, for example.

With 1x HDMI 2.0 and 2x HDMI 1.4b, this model enables multi-screen workstations or digital signage scenarios with up to three 4K monitors (1x 60 Hz, 2x 30 Hz).

"Fluent 4K playback through HDMI with 60 images per second was previously only possible on models with a dedicated graphics card,” says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "Subsequent products, including those from the other model series, will likewise be equipped with HDMI 2.0 in the foreseeable future.”

  • 3x HDMI for triple-display operation
  • 2x M.2, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x RS-232
  • Remote power-on connection

There is one USB Type-C port on the front panel which debuts in the “XPC slim” product family. This port is horizontally symmetrical which means it is reversible, and you no longer have to think about the right way of plugging in a USB client device. The other ports include 2x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, two serial interfaces and of course audio in- and outputs. A card reader for SD memory cards should also be mentioned. Just like its predecessors, this Mini-PC also boasts a remote power-on connection on the back. This can be used to implement a second power button which enables the device to be operated even when set up in hard-to-access places. Optional accessories comprise a 19-inch rack mount kit (PRM01), an M.2 WLAN/Bluetooth module incl. antennas (WLN-M), a VGA port (PVG01), a vertical stand (PS02) and a cable for connecting an external power button (CXP01).

The recommended retail price from Shuttle for the XPC Barebone DH270 is EUR 235.00 (excluding VAT).

Who buys those things i wonder but again market is big enough..

What do you mean? It supports any 1151 CPU, M.2, and swappable RAM. What's there not to like in such a small package? This would be great for office PCs, HTPCs, and basic family computers. This fits many needs. The price could be better (considering what it doesn't come with) but it isn't terrible.
