Rumor: Cyberpunk 2077 delayed to add virtual reality support?

Cyberpunk 2077 probably gets a little more attention than it deserves, but the latest delay was a little weird alright. Rumors have been that the game was delayed to get in line with a release from NVIDIA.

But that might not be the case at all. Cyberpunk 2077 is already finished and needed a bit of polishing before release. but got postponed until November 19 , supposedly to correct bugs and ensure 'a good balance in the game'. However, a new rumor says that CD Projekt Red is has delayed due to the addition of virtual reality support.

The rumor comes from a Reddit user, who shared a photograph of a Cyberpunk 2077 press event held in China where a "KAT Walk Mini" is seen, a device that allows us to walk in real life and that this transfer inside virtual reality games. Apparently, during the event the invited members were able to test the game for more than 4 hours, although it does not confirm whether or not they used virtual reality equipment.

If the rumor is true (and it is tagged as a loose rumor), we will likely see the announcement of this feature at Cyberpunk 2077's Night City Wire event taking place this Thursday. During this event, CD Projekt Red will show us new gameplay content never seen before, and will announce new details of the game that until now are not publicly known. Will VR be one of them? We will find out on Thursday.

Meanwhile 4 months earlier, John Mamais state "NO VR". But as the early gameplay showcase stated "everything you see is potentialy subject to change" ^^'
Maybe Half-Life : Alyx changed their mind, but well, i am not sure you can properly integrate VR in a game if you haven't designed it around since the beginning. Lots of thing work with a mice but don't work with a VR controller and the other way around too, except if you developed all the game with the 2 systems in mind.

One of the first thoughts I had after seeing the initial E3 presentation was how much Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it would be suited for VR. Have you guys thought about bringing the game to VR platforms in the future?

We tried. We were thinking about VR but, yeah, we’re not doing anything with VR. We got the VR dev kits but…

Wasn’t a good fit?

Some things would work in VR but, I think, it’s not really viable yet. You’re not making a lot of money in VR yet. It’s very experimental and niche, yeah. I would like to. I like VR but we’re not doing anything with it yet.

Good fucking lord CD Projekt, just give us the damn game. Are they trying to piss off every PC gamer that has supported them since the original Witcher?

I don't think so.Through a contact of mine I was told that they simply can't keep up with the scope of the game, some of the employees already cancelled their planned vacations and are in full crunch mode now to iron out the bugs and to polish (no pun intended) the game.

Do you honestly rather have unfinished game than wait a bit longer?
