Lab501 has published a review of an Intel Core i7-11700K "Rocket Lake-S" engineering sample; these are the first results with actual proper benchmarks. The proc used is an ES but has clock speeds matching the retail version's rumored clock speeds.

The i7-11700K holds 8-cores/16-threads seem to be being behind the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X in synthetic benchmarks like WPrime and rendering tests like Blender as well as video-encoder Handbrake. For gaming, the difference between the 5800X and i7-11700K, you'll notice a ±1% differential.

Energy consumption, system power was 27% higher than a 5800X-based whole-system based on a Prime95 run. Temps don't seem to be an issue; it ran 18°C cooler than the 5800X under Prime95. Check out the results below.
