In a Q and A session with AMD’s Don Woligroski shed a few words on Radeon RX Vega performance. The Vega card(s) are due to be released in Q2 and according to Don Woligroski would be competing with the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp.

In this Q&A session, Don was asked how Vega compared to Nvidia's recently released GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp GPUs, responding saying that Vega "looks really nice" in comparison. Below is Don's full comment on Vega.

Vega performance compared to the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan Xp looks really nice.

Let’s be honest here, that claim is difficult to back, but at least we know what Vega is going to be pitted against, thus the GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp. And apparently not the GTX 1080, AMD seems to set the bar high enough. But with such a small quote I am inclined to state that his words at this time should be taken with a grain of salt, even coming from an AMD employee.

Don Woligroski is the CPU Desktop manager @ AMD.
