Photo of an Actual AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
One of the first images showing the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Zen 4 desktop processor installed on a motherboard was shared online by a user who had access to one.
The 7700X is pictured here in its Socket AM5 configuration. In a recent interview, AMD emphasized that the unconventional form of the IHS is necessary to house the many electrical SMDs located outside the IHS for more efficient thermal management. Now that the processor is in place, we can clearly see that they aren't hidden by the mount holding the motherboard in place. According to prior speculations, the 7700X has eight zen 4-based cores and sixteen threads. The base clock is 4.5 GHz, with a single core capable of reaching at least 5.4 GHz. The TDP has been increased from 65 watts (5700X) to 105 watts (7700X), yet the 7700X is expected to be priced similarly to its predecessor at roughly 300 euros.
Following the same procedures used to install Intel's mainstream-desktop processors for the past 15 years, you can get your Ryzen 7000 up and running on Socket AM5. The letter "D" on the IHS indicates that this processor is not a retail model.

I can see Ebay being flooded with x670 motherboards with bent pins in the next 6 months....just like the z170....z270...z370 and so on, I think I`ll stick with my 5800x and gskill ddr4 4000cl15 royals for at least another year... no need to fix what isn`t broken.

Ooh, if I really zoom in and squint my eyes, I can already, even if barely, spot the SQUIP vulnerability in the leaked photo.
