Philips Brilliance 275P4VYKEB has 5K Resolution PLS Panel
Ultra HD displayes rated at 3840 x 2160 we all know, and over the last year we have seen merely a few true 4k" 4096 x 2160 ones. Fewer have reeleased a whopping 5120 x 2880 "5K" resolution.
Philips is now also jumping into the 5K market with their 275P4VYKEB. This is only a 27" sized screen which iks using a Samsung PLS (IPS-type) panel here with 217.57 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) and 10-bit colour depth. The panel coating is glossy as well, although it remains to be seen if there is any anti-reflective treatment at all. In other specs the screen offers an 8ms G2G response time 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and wide colour gamut backlight with 99% Adobe RGB coverage. The screen is also flicker free.
The stand offers a full range of ergonomic adjustments with tilt, height, swivel and rotate available. There are 2x DisplayPort 1.2 video connections provided and at the moment you need both connected from a suitable graphics card to power the screen at 5K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. There are also 3x USB 3.0 ports, 1 with fast charging support.
There's been a lot of Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 displays released over the last year or so, and a few with "true 4k" 4096 x 2160 resolution as well. Only a couple of manufacturers have pushed beyond this with the likes of the Dell UP2715K and Apple Cinema Display being the first to offer a whopping 5120 x 2880 "5K" resolution.

I am of the opinion that 27" is too small a screen size to have such a massive resolution to display. With Windows 7 or earlier the text/icons etc. would be to small as this resolution.
Would need 30" at least and even then it would be pushing it.
Also I presume the two Displayport requirement means the monitor is tricking the PC into thinking it is two different half size monitors in Eyefinity like mode then?

Ah, the only acceptable high resolution when 1080p is the standard.
