Tthe Patriot Viper PV553, slated for a full reveal at Computex 2023 in just a few weeks. This advanced PCIe Gen5 x4 M.2 SSD features an astonishing advertised transfer speed of 12.4 GB/s.

As the Patriot Viper PV553 is still in its pre-launch phase, specific information is limited. However, a standout feature that has captured attention is the standard inclusion of an active cooler. This is especially promising in light of recent overheating and performance concerns for PCIe Gen5 SSDs. A small fan is visible at the connector end, accompanied by a grooved and vented design, possibly topped by an aluminum shield. This intriguing design sparks interest, raising questions about whether covering the various openings might create a musical effect when the fan is in operation. Notably, the Viper PV533 does not include RGB LED lighting.

Excitement builds around the performance potential of the Patriot Viper PV553, as its advertised speeds could compete with top-tier PCIe Gen5 SSDs like the Crucial T700, which also boasts a 12.4 GB/s transfer rate. However, the real-world performance of the Patriot Viper PV553 has yet to be confirmed.

Beyond the PCIe Gen5 SSD, Patriot is set to unveil updates to its PCIe Gen4 SSD lineup at Computex. The company also plans to showcase its Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5 extreme performance memory and Viper Elite 5 DDR5 mainstream performance memory in a dedicated RAM exhibit. Moreover, attendees can look forward to exploring a variety of new peripherals and experiencing a demonstration of the recently launched Viper VXD M.2 SSD Enclosure.
