NVIDIA reports record revenue in fiscal quarter Q3 2021

This one slipped by me yesterday, but NVIDIA, despite the shortage of its GeForce RTX 30s, increased its profits by 57% moving towards a serious $ 4.73 billion in revenue during the third quarter of fiscal 2021.

That +57% compared to the same period last year. The gaming division generated no less than $ 2.27 billion, 37% more than the previous year. For its part, its Data Center business generated $ 1,090 million, which represented a growth of 162%.

The company said Wednesday it paid out $ 99 million in quarterly cash dividends and saw its earnings per share rise 46% to $ 2.12 in the third quarter of fiscal 2021, up from $ 1.45 a year earlier.

Remember that during Q3, NVIDIA agreed to buy the semiconductor company ARM from the Japanese group SoftBank for approximately $ 40 billion as part of efforts to expand its artificial intelligence computing capabilities. The deal, which was announced in mid-September, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

"We are positioning NVIDIA for the age of AI, when computing will spread from the cloud to billions of devices," Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said at the time of the acquisition of ARM.

I rather games on a hd/sd drive as well, but the cloud allows more storage and freedom to play a game elsewhere.

Yes it does. The problem is that it's entirely reliant on an a very fast internet connection. Even then you can feel the input lag delay, if ever so minor.

Cloud gaming is never going to replace a game already on a hard disk.

It can in a horrifying dystopian future where consoles are just connection boxes with very little as far as hardware goes. It'll happen the day consoles make it happen. Hopefully never.

Luckily, ironically, the internet in 'Murica and Canada, on average, is absolute dogshit due to corruption and greed, so that'll delay that possible dystopian future a little.

Can't stream games if your internet is 10+ years behind the rest of the world.
