Over in Asia a series of slides leaked onto the web. Now I know we've been talking about the 8-core Intel parts for a while now. But the newly leaked info is, in fact, a roadmap, showing a few new discoveries.

The new slides from Intel that leaked confirm the new 8-core processor to be launched in the third quarter, so that would be September at the latest. Then in the first quarter of 2019, a Coffee Lake refresh is expected.

The Core i9-9900K would have eight cores at 3.6 GHz, with an all-core turbo boost to 4.7 GHz. Hyperthreading is also enabled. The two Core i5's would be the i5-9600K, successor to the 8600K with a small bump in clock speeds at 3.7 GHz with an all-core turbo of 4.3 GHz. Then the Core i5-9400 has six cores at 2.9 base to 4.1 GHz single core turbo. The Core i9 is accompanied by the Z390 chipset which in comparison to Z370 gets a wireless-ac chip is integrated into the processor and native USB 3.1 is supported.

In the first quarter of 2019, the rest of the 9000 series processors would be launched. All Core i3 and i5s.
