MSI X99 Motherboards Shatter 6 World Records

The MSI X99S XPOWER AC, one of MSI’s new Intel X99 based OC motherboards, just obliterated the Cinebench R15 world record for the Intel Core i7 5960X processor by scoring a staggering 2314 points while all 8 cores were running at an amazing 5931.02 MHz clock speed, which is almost 200 MHz higher than any other X99 motherboard currently on the market.

Furthermore, X99S XPOWER AC broke the world records of wPrime and could reach the CPU speed as 6354.9 MHz. MSI’s complete X99 line up is capable of breaking world records with the X99S SLI PLUS already breaking 3 different records such as SuperPi and PiFast. It shows that the MSI X99S SLI PLUS motherboard is not only packed with an arsenal of features, it also packs plenty of power for heavy workstation tasks such as rendering and calculations.

The Overclocking Champion returns. Clever solutions are once again handed to enthusiast overclockers to help break world records. This series features a new OC Backplate, a smart solution for overclockers to mount their LN2 pot, and Delid Die Guard to make mounting a cooling solution easier, safer and to help squeeze every last MHz out of the a delidded CPU. The next generation OC Engine is offers a dedicated Clock Generator for more flexible BCLK adjustments, from 100 / 125 / 167 MHz straps. The next generation chip offers even lower jitter and power consumption resulting in even higher stability under the most extreme conditions

The new MSI X99S SLI PLUS motherboard presents an arsenal of new features and improvements as well as technical ingenuity. Offering reliable and fast Gigabit LAN from Intel® and Nvidia® SLI™ support for enthusiasts looking to pair up multiple graphics cards. Users enjoy blazing fast system boot up and loading of applications and games. Delivering speeds up to 32Gb/s, Turbo M.2 is more than 5 times faster than a regular SATA III 6 Gb/s connection. SATA Express is supported up to 10 Gb/s. Guard-Pro and Military Class 4 provide all the stability you need through carefully selected and tested components and materials.

If I was in the market for motherboard based on X99, I certainly would pick the MSI X99S Xpower AC an this just confirms it.

Surely its more about this chip itself than the board, you could probably put that chip in any of the highend X99 boards and it'll do the same!?

Not taking anything away from this board, it certainly looks awesome! Its just I feel its more about the chip itself than the board its in these days.

It certainly is a great chip, but the mobo is sublime as well. This one was especially made with extreme OC in mind, one can really only take full advantage of it on water or better ln2.

I'm curious what the price difference is between the xpower and the gamer x99.
