MSI Releases Armor Series Radeon RX 480
The armor series from MSI is often a little cheaper and simplified version of the product, yet still silent, well cooled and good quality of course. MSI has announced the Radeon RX 480 Armor series .
You are going to see 4G and 8G models, obviously referring towards 4GB and 8 GB GDDR5 grahpics memory. The Polaris 10 XT based card will get 2304 shader professors and a GPU that runs a boost clock of 1266 MHz for the regular model.
There is also an OC model called Radeon RX 480 Armor 8G OC, that one will run a 1291 MHz clock boost frequency. On both models the memory runs at 8 Gbps effective. The Armor series is a dual-slot dual fan design that will remain idle (RPM) on the fans if the GPU remains under 60 degrees C. The cards are all compatible with MSI Afterburner. Prices are TBA, but expect them to be 20 bucks cheaper compared to the Gaming models.

Gaming X RX 480 has 6+1 phase design, not 5.

Looking at this PCB, it looks like the power delivery is a notch better than their Gaming RX 480. The Gaming RX 480 has a 5 phase design where as this has a 6 phase design. This is weird though, as the Gaming X is supposed to be better than the Armor series.
