It seems that MSI's livestream once again is under scrutiny, as trigger-happy incompetence struck again, they leaked crucial embargoed information from Intel.

During a recent live stream (which now is pulled), MSI disclosed confidential information about their forthcoming products. A slide from the presentation, labeled as "NDA, do not share," unveiled specifications of the impending 14th Gen Core CPUs, designated as the Raptor Lake-S Refresh. This included confirmation that the Core i7-14700K would incorporate an additional four E-cores.

MSI, a recognized technology firm, provided insights on the anticipated performance of these CPUs relative to the 13th Gen Core processors. The expected performance enhancement is approximately three percent compared to the counterpart SKU of the preceding generation. The information from MSI originates from an unintentionally disclosed product training video that presented Intel's 700 series motherboards and forthcoming PC cases.

Most of the content in the video discussed improvements to the motherboards. A particular segment of the presentation specified that the 14th Gen Core series wouldn't see considerable growth in core numbers. The Core i7-14700K was highlighted, receiving an upgrade from 8 E-cores to 12 Efficient cores. Moreover, the Core i9-14900K and Core i5-14600K configurations were corroborated by MSI as having 8P+16E and 6P+8E setups, respectively. A noteworthy enhancement is from the Core i7-14700K, with up to a 17 percent performance boost in multi-threaded tasks, attributed to the increased core count. However, the rationale behind transitioning from a Core i7-13700K may be debatable, given the minor performance improvement. This revelation prompts questions regarding Intel's rationale for this refresh.

Official announcements about Intel's upcoming series are expected at the Innovation 2023 event in September.
