MSI Launches Mini GeForce GTX 1060 3GB OCV3

MSI outs a small Mini ITX version of the GeForce GTX 1060 today. The products is called MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GB OCV3 The 3GB model will be perfect for small form factor builds and runs factory-overclocked at a  1544 MHz core, 1759 MHz GPU Boost, and 8.00 GHz GDDR5-effective memory.

The card is 18.8 cm in length and is fitted with a custom cooling solution, basically an aluminium heatsink with fins and a single 80 mm fan cooling that heatsink. The 6 nm GP106 GPU has 1,152 CUDA cores, 72 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface. At a price hovering at 199 USD the card won't be expensive either.

Probably more like ~$269 once it's available in Sweden, which is a shame.

For us it will be 269.99 Euro in shop (ok it's 270 Euro but in consumer's mind it is 269 (what a bargain lol)

Those 27" models look interesting for a 3 screen setup. Now they need to make a 1440p model and tell us how low the VFR goes.

For a moment as there were theories about nVidia having only 6GB version of GTX 1060 i thought that they'll play VRAM limitation card in 2017 against AMD.

But 3GB vram on card which has decent horsepower is not good idea. This card will not live as long as 6GB versions.

Well, at least they'll will not play vram card and games will remain somewhat optimized for less vram one more year.

It's actually closer to 300 euros in my country (due to general high taxes and a new chemical tax for electronics) and that is why I got myself an RX580 instead, which is a tad quicker than both 3/6GB versions and with additional video memory for the same price, but I will probably end up regretting it in a year or two, unless more Vulkan games pop up, but for now at least, I'm a happy camper, apart from the nasty coilwhine (neither my retailer or MSI accepted my RMA) but it's manageable...
