MSI appears to be ready for PCIe 5.0, with new 1300W power supply

MSI's new MEG and MPG V2 power supplies, contain complete PCIe 5.0 connectors with four additional contacts to supply 600 watts.

Sources furnished us with images of the current MSI MEG & MPG lineup, which is scheduled to be unveiled in its entirety later this year. Two brand-new MSI MEG 80 Plus Platinum and three MPG 80 Plus Gold certified power supply units round out the roster. MSI's MEG PSU series will feature a 1300W and a 1000W unit, both of which will be based on MSI's new G.I Engine and capable of powering the most power-hungry CPU and GPU combinations. MSI's MPG PSU lineup, on the other hand, is geared toward high-end PCs, with 1000W, 850W, and 750W models available.  A single 16-pin power connector capable of supplying the card with up to 600 Watts of power. The connector is rated for 600W power delivery and is compatible with PCIe Gen 5.0 cards. It is not compatible with legacy PCIe Gen 2 or Gen 3 cards.
