MSI unveiled its maiden high-performance notebook PC equipped with the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor, introducing the "Alpha 17 C7V" series.
This marks MSI's entry into the high-spec laptop market. The product is set to hit the market on August 30th, featuring two distinct models within the series.
Alpha 17 C7V Series: Enhanced Processing and Gaming Performance
The Alpha 17 C7V series boasts the prowess of the AMD Ryzen processor, furnished with 16 cores and 32 threads, accentuating its formidable processing capabilities tailored for gaming. The device is complemented by a choice between the GeFprce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU or the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. The display, spanning 17.3 inches and presenting a WQHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, offers a non-glare panel with an impressive 240Hz refresh rate. This arrangement ensures a seamless gaming experience at WQHD resolution.
Innovative Cooling Solution and GPU Configuration
The series introduces an innovative cooling mechanism known as "Cooler Boost 5," which combines hybrid heat pipes to facilitate stable operations. With six heat pipes supported by dual cooling fans, optimized heat management is achieved. Additionally, the series supports a discrete graphics mode, enabling exclusive operation through the dedicated GPU while disabling the CPU's integrated GPU.
Robust Specifications and Connectivity
Core specifications comprise 32GB of DDR5 memory (16GB x 2) and the choice between 2TB or 1TB M.2 SSDs (NVMe), catering to extensive storage needs. A 920,000-pixel webcam and stereo speaker setup enrich the device's multimedia capabilities. The notebook supports Wi-Fi 7 (Wi-Fi 6E/6/5/4 only) and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless connectivity. The interface offers a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (with video output and USB PD compatibility) x1, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A x3, mini DisplayPort x1, HDMI x1, and an audio combo jack.

Exhibiting dimensions of 397mm in width, 284mm in depth, and 25.9mm in height, the notebook weighs 2.8kg. Its power is sourced from a 99.9 Whr/4-cell lithium-ion battery, offering up to 8 hours of operation. The device comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Home as its operating system.

The Alpha 17 C7V series is scheduled for release on August 30th. The "Alpha-17-C7VG-3034-JP" model is estimated to be priced around $2359. Meanwhile, the "Alpha-17-C7VF-3039-JP" variant is projected to carry an approximate market price of $1979.
