Micro-LED Display Manages to push 1 Million Nits Capability
I know I call monitors with 1000 nits retina soring, but my man Jay Bird Display (JBD) has unveiled their new Micro-LED technology that boasts of 5000ppi, and 1 million nits capability on a 2560x1920 device. The CEO suggested uses included integration into sniper scopes where the display would take over the duties of a spotter, lithography, 3D printing, projectors, head up display (HUD) and Augmented Reality (AR). The chips have already been manufactured on a wafer, but the yields need to be increased to meet the $10 - $20 per chip estimated price.

I think what he means is price per circuit.
10-20$ a chip means, that a display at 2560x1920 (4,915,200 pixels) costs 49,152,000$?

They want to get entire display cost to $20. Well, they are not combining RGB yet, but still. In few years, RGB will be like $100. And that would start to be interesting for AR.
