Despite the launch of Intel Haswell processors in June, channel retailers currently still focus on digesting their Ivy Bridge-based notebooks, delaying the platform transition, according to sources from PC players.

The sources pointed out that most retailers are expected to continue promoting Ivy Bridge-based notebooks before the end of 2013 and demand for Haswell-based models are unlikely to start picking up until the first half of 2014, Digitimes reports.

Intel is expected to release the Haswell Refresh platform in June 2014 for the desktop market, but for the notebook segment, Intel is set to release its 14nm Broadwell-based U, Y and H series processors in the third quarter of 2014. There will be no updates for its N series processors for conventional notebooks.
