Intel Six-Core i7-970 CPU shipping
This processor was in the pipeline for a while now, yet I am surprised to see it launched so soon. Intel is about to release this product, yet a UK etailer jumped the gun.
The Core i7 970 will be clocked a tiny bit slower than the 980X at 3.2 GHz . Obviously you'll be stripped away from the unlocked multiplier as well. But still; pricing should in the end be a notch better at roughly 900 EUR.
The 6-core processor is based on socket LGA 1366 motherboards and has 12MB of L3 cache. The product also hyper-threads to 12 threads, as well as the lovely integrated triple-channel DDR3 memory controller.
The etailer lists it at

· PowerColor PCS+ HD5770 Vortex Edition »
