Iiyama 27in B2783QSU has 1440p TN Film Panel and FreeSync

Iiyama is outting another TN panel, the 27" B2783QSU is their first one supporting FreeSync technology from AMD. It is a 2560 x 1440 resolution TN Film panel offers a 1ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 170/160 viewing angles. The FreeSync range is pretty poor at 48 - 75Hz.

Besides FreeSync™ the B2783QSU offers great color accuracy and consistent color reproduction, wide viewing angles and a sharp high resolution 2560x1440 panel. The monitor incorporates an ergonomic stand offering 130mm height adjustable stand with pivot and swivel, making this screen an excellent solution for environments where workspace flexibility, posture and ergonomics are key factors. Triple input (DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort) and a USB HUB ensure compatibility with any Desktop PC or Notebook.

Featuring a response time of 1ms, the B2783QSU ensures fast, fluid and accurate transition between frames and reduces ghosting or smearing. This high specification screen is an ideal partner for FPS (First Person Shooter) games. The ProLite B2783QSU-B1 will be launched across Europe by iiyama on 3 September.

Hm, I wonder if they make some AMVA+ (or whatever is the latest mutation of VA) ASync display as they seemed to push those panels a bit more than others. I'd take 10!

27" is fine, big enough already, for those who sit directly in front of the monitor. TN is on the rise again, 75Hz + freesync, a great (and most likely reasonably priced) monitor all in all.

48 - 75Hz? Not the worst I've seen, but certainly not great either. There will be some games that are hard to tweak to get into that range. You pretty much have to lower the graphics settings and then put a framerate-limiter on 75fps to be able to enjoy freesync with such narrow range. Something like Arma3 will be impossible, because it will drop a lot under 48fps, no matter how powerful your PC is.
