HP EliteDisplay S340c Curved Monitor With Built in Webcam

HP is to release the EliteDisplay S340c curved Monitor. This 899 USD monitor will offer a 34" diagonal curved screen, 21:9 aspect ratio at 3440 x 1440 @ 60 Hz. The monitor has a built in 720p webcam, 60 watt USB-C connector and speakers by Bang & Olufsen.

The panel has a maximum brightness rated at 300 cd / m2 and a contrast ratio of 3000:1 indicating once again a VA based panel. The resolution is 3440x1440 with a refresh rate 60 Hz. The panel has a 6 ms gray to gray response time. The screen has been fitted with a retractable webcam (720p resolution) and can be folded away behind the screen when not in use. Also built in are two microphones for audio recording. HP certifies these for Microsoft Skype for Business. Built in are four speakers, 7W per channel by Bang & Olufsen.

The monitor offers quite a bit of connectivity options including USB Type-C. It has two HDMI and and one DisplayPort 1.2 available + USB 3.0 Type-A for accessories and get this, an Ethernet connection.

Elite Display S340c is available in the US for $899.

I actually like the look of this, it may be 60hz but it's an interesting option. Plenty of connectivity, VA, dual microphone setup which depending on quality could be interesting while keeping a clear desk. Best of all it's a curved ultra-wide with the right size/resolution.

Not really a gaming monitor, but now that i got 21:9 monitor, more of those is only a benefit. The sooner we make it a new standard the better. its amazing guys, try it! :p

The letter "S" in the model's designation resembles "$" (something wrong with the font, here?). So for a moment I thought it's price is 340 US dollars... That much I would pay for such monitor, but 900 $, no way...

There is absolutely no reason to have anything beyond 720p on a professional monitor, hell even rhat much is too much.
