Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 5GB Windforce OC Spotted
Yesterday we reported about a 5GB version GeForce GTX 1060, well it's already been spotted it seems. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 5GB Windforce OC in specific. The card features dual-fan Windforce 2X cooling solution and has been fitted with a backplate.
The clock speeds for this factory tweaked card are 1582/1797 MHz in OC mode and 1556/1771 MHz in Gaming mode, and these match the regular 1060 6GB model, as videocardz spotted today. The memory clock speed is 8008 MHz offering 160 GB/s bandwidth, 32 GB/s less than 192b/6GB model. The GTX 1060 5GB Windforce OC has four display outputs: two DVIs, HDMI, and a DisplayPort. The reason behind the new model is that it will be aimed at Internet Cafe's, hugely popular in Asia, as Expreview reports. Three GB is too little, 5 GB seems to be a little more cost effective. A photo of the 5GB paired GPU also already appeared:
The GP106-350-K3-A1 has been confirmed to have a full 1280 Shader processors
It is reported and thus now visually confirmed that that the GPU used is the GP106-350-K3-A1 which holds it's original 1280 shader processors. However, the lacking GDDR5 chip would have an effect on the memory bus, which would be a 160-bit. Again, we think this model is aimed at the Asia market only.

Maybe they are full 6GB with broken gpu or memory, just like GTX465 were.

I don't really get this, can dropping 1GB really save much money? I'd have though the costs in creating another SKU would pretty much eat up any cost saving. Unless it's to get an nVidia card to compete cost wise with the RX570 for mining?

Cant be with the different bus width. The 5GB bastard here is 160bit vs 192bit.. The GTX 465 had matching specs of the GTX 470, and almost everyone that I ever saw that unlocked had all of the memory chips too.
At least this wont be the 9600 GS/GS0 crap nvidia pulled. There were 384mb,512mb,768mb, and even 1GB versions of those cards. And all had difference bus widths too. 192 for 384/768, 256 for 512mb, and 128bit DDR2 for 1GB. Best part is nvidias site only list 384 and 512 version.

GTX465 had lower bus width and less memory, i had 1 unlocked fully to 470 specks. had to lower memory speed 50mhz to make it stable.
