Gigabyte Adds Regular GeForce GTX 980 Ti With WindForce 3X Cooling System

Gigabyte added a new SKU based on the reference clocked GeForce GTX 980 Ti yet now with WindForce 3X Cooling System. Codenamed GV-N98TWF3-6GD, this high-end graphics card is configured with 2814 CUDA Cores, a 384-bit memory interface, a core clock of 1000MHz, a boost clock of 1075MHz and a 6GB of GDDR5 memory set @ 7010MHz.

The card also employs the company’s popular WindForce 3X cooling system (w/ high performance pure copper heat-pipes which direct touch the GPU can strengthen the speed of heat dissipation) and has 1x dual-link DVI-I, 1x dual-link DVI-D, 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort outputs.

  • WINDFORCE 3X cooling system
  • Flex Display Technology
  • Powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 TI GPU
  • Integrated with industry's best 6GB GDDR5 memory 384-bit memory interface
  • Features Dual-link DVI-I / Dual-link DVI-D / HDMI / DisplayPort*3
  • Base: 1000 MHz / Boost:1075 MHz
  • System power supply requirement: 600W(with two 8-pin external power connectors)

Pricing is in the 700 EURO marker, nad sure .. basically it is the OC model that has not been OCed. So we think you'll get a very nice teak out of this one.

I have exactly the same version but for GTX 980. While this is a solid and good product, the Air cooling nowadays is sadly insufficient. On 1440p modern games two of those 980's heat is very fast over 70c or even 80 right away. So I always have to monitor temperatures and limit FPS to be able to hold them below 70c.

Sadly it is impossible to install hybryd cooler on those as they have non standard PCB (longer).

Good card otherwise.

Why would you? Its not like its going to die if it sits even @ 80C, heck most likely it wouldnt overheat @90C

And if you go through the trouble of getting a hybrid cooler, you might as well go for a full cover block for water cooling if you already have a loop.
