Gigabyte adds GeForce GTX 970 Graphics with Twin Turbo Fan

Yep, still a popular card series, especially with the holidays coming up. Gigabyte released the GeForce GTX 970 Graphics with Twin Turbo Fan. Codenamed N970TT-4GD, this mid-range graphics card has a core clock of 1051MHz, a boost clock of 1178MHz and a 4GB of GDDR5 memory set @ 7010MHz.

The card has a Twin Turbo Fan that features the exclusive blower design with bidirectional air intake that effectively increases air flow by 24% and providing 29% better cooling performance than the reference design for exceptional SLI configurations. The GPU has 1664 CUDA Cores and a 256-bit memory interface.

  • Twin Turbo Bidirectional air intake fan
  • Powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 GPU
  • Integrated with industry's best 4GB GDDR5 memory 256-bit memory interface
  • Features Dual-link DVI-I / HDMI / DisplayPort*3
  • Boost:1178 / Base: 1051 MHz
  • System power supply requirement: 400W(with one 8-pin external power connectors)

For output ports, the N970TT-4GD provides 1x dual-link DVI-I, 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet.

I like this. It'd be great if AIB partners would put more effort into blower-type coolers. Open designs are excellent for GPU cooling, but dumping tons of hot air into the case tends to interfere with CPU cooling.

I have a GTX 980 Ti with an Evga ACX cooler, and using an AIO cooler with the radiator mounted in the front dropped CPU temperatures by more than 20 C.

I can only say that there must be something seriously wrong with the airflow if it makes 20c difference.

I started with two reference Titan X cards in SLI, and so with blower style coolers. Later i replaced the reference cooler on both cards with Arctic Accelero Xtreme III coolers. GPU temperatures went down more then 20c and do you know what it did with the CPU temperature... absolutely 0.0 nothing, no increase nor decrease in CPU temperatures whatsoever.

Airflow is key with top-down coolers.
