Geekbench lists an Intel Core i5-13600K with 14 cores and a clock speed of 5.1 GHz.

Geekbench lists an Intel Core i5-13600K with 14 cores and a clock speed of 5.1 GHz.

Today's Intel Raptor Lake benchmark leaks abound, and this time we're looking at two Core i5-13600K CPUs in two different motherboards.

The first CPU is housed on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme motherboard and comes with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. The second CPU is housed on an ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E motherboard, together with 32 GB of DDR4 memory. Both PCs are running Windows 10, and unlike the Core i9-13900K figures we saw a few weeks ago, Geekbench claims that these two findings are legitimate.

The i5-13600K has 14 cores and 20 threads. In order for this setup to function, only 6 Performance cores and one cluster of 8 Efficient cores are activated. It is too early to tell, however it is possible that this silicon is distinct from the 8P+16E type used by the 13900K.
According to the software's statistics, the CPU was operating at 4.3 to 5.09 GHz (ASRock) or 5.05 to 5.1 GHz (Gigabyte) (ASUS). This suggests that the later score was achieved using an overclocked system. The CPU scored 1980 and 2012 points in the single-core and 14425 and 16054 points in the multi-core tests, respectively. Using the higher score indicates that the CPU is up to 8% faster than its predecessor Core i5-12600K in single-core tests and up to 38% faster in multi-core tests. Compared to the AMD flagship Ryzen 5000 CPU with 16 cores (5950X), the i5-13600K may be 20% quicker in SC and around 3% slower in MT.

This is what Intel are capable of, and what they've done before (think Core 2 and Sandy Bridge releases) - but they have to be forced into doing it. I just hope that Zen 4 is really good otherwise Intel will spend years sandbagging again.

Lets see how many watts it consumes.
An 8% to 38% performance increase with (for example) a 50% power usage increase... would not be a good thing at all.

Lets see.

The 5950 being much older ripped it on multi-core performance. But, it seems these days all we get are leaked benchmarks for Intel.

Drugs are bad. Intel hasnt been sandbagging since Zen 1 launched 5 years ago.
And anyone getting hard off of Intels leaked geekbench scores is a max level fangirl clown.
