Overclocking Feat: Splave Surpasses 4000 MHz Mark with ASUS RTX 4090 ROG Matrix GPU. Accomplishing an extraordinary task in the realm of overclocking, Splave, a keen and accomplished overclocker, has managed to exceed the 4000 MHz mark previously set by Cens.

This was achieved using the ASUS RTX 4090 ROG Matrix GPU, an advanced model yet to be released, featuring a superior liquid cooling system. This surpasses the previous high clock speed achieved with the Colorful RTX 4090, which reached 4000 MHz.

Although the liquid cooling system plays a role in the overclocking process, it is important to acknowledge that overclockers also utilize liquid nitrogen and expertise, rather than solely depending on the cooling systems of the hardware.

The RTX 4090 was tested to its limits using the GPUPI benchmark, attaining 4005 MHz. This particular benchmark primarily focuses on the calculation of the number pi and is not a direct measure of 3D graphics performance. This test's less demanding workload allows processors to attain higher clock speeds, a key reason why most records revolve around this benchmark, as opposed to popular ones like 3DMark.

The RTX 4090, to achieve these extraordinary clock speeds, necessitates a hefty power supply exceeding 1000 watts. The precise power consumption for these specific results, however, was not revealed. In comparison, the Colorful iGame GPU demanded 1.1 KW to surpass the 3.975 GHz barrier.

Historically, TecLab was the first to surpass the 3.0 GHz barrier with the RTX 2080 Ti Turing graphics card nearly three years ago. Subsequent models based on the Ampere architecture led to considerable frequency enhancements, but the 4.0 GHz mark remained unattained until the advent of the RTX 40 series with Ada architecture. It was only after more than eight months post the RTX 4090's launch that clock speeds of this magnitude were finally observed.

In summary, these noteworthy overclocking milestones underscore the considerable potential and power of the ASUS GeForce RTX 4090, indicating a promising future for high-performance graphics processing.
