EA Changes Star Wars Squadrons Requirements: needs slightly Better CPU

The Star Wars: Squadrons system requirements for the game have been changed a bit, increasing the CPU recommended on the AMD side, and asking for more storage free spacein our system.

On the minimum requirements side, an Intel Core i5-7600 was originally the plan, and now EA is asking for at least an Intel Core i5 6600K , which is pretty much the same CPU. On the AMD side, the Ryzen 3 1300X is still being required as a minimum. The big change comes in AMD's recommended processor, as an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X is now recommended, unlike the previously recommended AMD Ryzen 3 3200G. On the Intel side, at least an i7-7700K is still recommended.

The other big change is that the game will now require 40GB of free storage space instead of just 30, so we may have to make a little more space if we have our disk quite full. Fortunately, the RAM and GPU requirements remain intact . You can see the complete and updated requirements below:

Minimum (non-VR)

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor (AMD): Ryzen 3 1300X
  • Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600k
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon HD 7850 or Equivalent
  • Graphics Card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 660 or Equivalent
  • DirectX: 11.1
  • Multiplayer Online Connection Requirements: 512 Kbps or faster Internet connection
  • Hard Drive Space: 40GB

Recommended (non-VR) / Minimum (VR)

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor (AMD): Ryzen 7 2700X
  • Processor (Intel): Intel i7-7700
  • Memory: 16GB
  • Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon RX 480 or Equivalent
  • Graphics Card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 1060 or Equivalent
  • DirectX: 11.1
  • Multiplayer Online Connection Requirements: 512 Kbps or faster Internet connection
  • Hard Drive Space: 40GB

Recommended (VR)

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor (AMD): Ryzen 7 2700X
  • Processor (Intel): Intel i7-7700
  • Memory: 16GB

He have some independent age rating, maybe is time to same thing for HW specs, customer would win and companies would not be accused to keep HW requirements too low and it would be nice leaks source too.. Win for everyone.

This looks like it might have serious fun potential in VR.
