Dell launches Alienware's thinnest gaming laptop Alienware X series
Dell Technologies announced the thinnest gaming notebook PC "Alienware x" series in Alienware history, 16 mm or less for 15.6 type and 21 mm or less for multiple models.
The cooling system uses a newly developed material "Element 31" with a 25% improvement in thermal conductivity, which doubles the CPU boost operation time. Furthermore, by combining a quad fan and an intelligent control system, sufficient cooling performance is realized despite being thin.
New Alienware x17
The liquid crystal of the 17-inch model "New Alienware x17" is 165Hz / 3ms full HD, 360Hz / 1ms full HD (early July) and 120Hz / 4ms 4K panel can also be selected. The CPU is the 11th generation Intel Core 9-11980HK / Core i7-11800H, the graphics is GeForce RTX 3080/3070/3060, the memory is 16GB to 64GB, and the SSD is 512GB to 4TB. I JUST... like JUST... bought the Alienware m17 R4 and I feel like it's a nicer machine.... for less. With this new x-series, you lose a full keyboard (I like having the number pad for work and quickie math) - and the color scheme is only white on the outside with the x-series, instead of mostly white all over with the m-series - if you choose to go with white, that is. The hardware in it doesn't even differ that much. I have a 3070 in mine and 16gb of ram... a 360hz FHD panel and 1TB of SSD storage. And I paid $2,249. So... because it's thinner, cools better, has blinkier lights on the back, and has an 11th gen proc.... it's almost 300 bucks more? Odd... very odd. Never-the-less... I'm sure it will be a fun machine to use. I just think the m-series was a better value... and prettier - if you go with white (Lunar Light).

Thin sells most consistently more than thick would be my guess. When I bought my laptop I wasn't looking for a gaming one but I ended up buying a G14 because it was light/thin enough that I can carry it around at a good price (And isn't aggressively 'gamer'). Also cooling solutions can be rather good even in a thinner package, especially if they let the temps up high for sustained periods, which seems to be the MO for most companies nowadays.

The specifications are very nice. It has good cooling. The temps was my first thought in regards to a super thin Laptop.
