Century announced the upcoming release of their latest external HDD enclosure, the Fifth Generation Cooling System HDD with Temperature Detection and USB 3.2 Gen1.

The new 3.5-inch SATA HDD enclosure comes equipped with a built-in 80mm cooling fan and an LCD panel on the front, allowing users to monitor HDD temperature and cooling fan rotation speed (up to 1,800 rpm). An additional feature is the HDD temperature monitoring function, which triggers an alarm when a set temperature is exceeded. Moreover, the enclosure has a PC power synchronization function that automatically stops the HDD when the PC starts and ends. A cooling fan ON/OFF switch is also located on the back of the enclosure. The front LED changes color—green when connected to USB 3.2 Gen 1 and blue when connected to USB 2.0—to indicate the connection status. The device-side interface is SATA 3.0-1.0 (6G-1.5Gbps) while the host-side interface is USB 3.2 Gen 1. The external dimensions are 73mm in width, 195mm in depth, and 132mm in height, with a weight of approximately 460g.

The "Fifth Generation Cooling System HDD with Temperature Detection and USB 3.2 Gen1" (model number: CLS35U3BKF6G2) is anticipated to retail around $60, including tax when released in mid-April.
