ASUS Uncovers ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon

ASUS ROG has been showcasing the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon. The card can both be hybrid cooled with the fans used as well as using a liquid cooling loop.
ASUS completely overhauled the looks and design for the Poseidon, including AURA RGB LED enablement. Armed with a massive liquid cooling block (H2O), a custom PCB, quality components and a factory overclock this product is bound to perform, whilst staying totally silent.
The ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon edition comes factory overclock (clocks have not been disclosed just yet) and that hybrid cooler which packs two dust-proof fans, multiple heatpipes, a large heatsink and a water block.
This means you can just use the air-cooling, but alternatively you can fire up liquid cooling as well, which we’d recommend. The card will become available in April 2017.

You would be better off with a FE and an EK full coverage block. Plus that takes up only one slot not three.

@Loophole35
then again, not lots of ppl anymore that are using more than one (big) gpu for gaming, and/or (case) space isn't an issue.
but even without that, i wouldn't wanna mess with installing a (LC) cooler on a 700$ card, and would rather spend a little more on something like this.
and it doesnt become an issue when i need to rma the card.
and i had my first custom loop with (portable) external rads and industrial quick connects in '06, so its not that i'm "scared" to mess with it...

I get that but I'm just not a fan of these cards. I know MSI is releasing a custom PCB with an EK block standard. That would be more of what I would want. This card does not have water flowing over the VRMs instead uses the fans to cool that so you still end up with power draw from that and some noise. Kinda defeats the purpose of water cooling.

Looks awesome. Wonder if the cost be worth couple of extra fps.
