Asus ROG PG34Q 34" Ultra-Wide Curved G-Sync Monitor Details

Asus ROG PG34Q 34

So in the previous ASUS news-item from Computex we mentioned a curved screen that caught a lot of attention. We have some more info on it now as it is the Asus ROG PG34Q.

This monitor is 34" ultra-wide curved with a 21:9 aspect ratio display. The Republic of Gaming (ROG) branding is injected into this model and it will have an 3800R curvature. It will offer a 3440 x 1440 resolution and support for NVIDIA's G-sync technology. We already mentioned that this model would be capable of doing GSYNC over HDMI, we however doubt it can be done at that resolution being tied to HDMI 1.4a

The panel used is IPS based and although info from Nvidia suggests 60Hz, we believe this to be a 75Hz screen. Connectivity includes DisplayPort and HDMI. The Asus mentions it will feature ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur) mode. A spokes person from ASUS stated that this is a prototype monitor, and they are still not 100% sure if it'll make production, however judging from the interest in it, I personally bet it will.

oh what a shame it won't get into production! It could be really cool gaming on a curved screen, specially with g-synch

Well it might get into production.

That said, it's not 4k, it's not 120hz and it's IPS.

Next monitor i get needs to be all of the above and OLED otherwise it's not worth it to me. Especially as I imagine a fair amount of my gaming will be on an Oculus or Equivalent in the near future!

Have you looked at the Acer XR341CKA? It's pretty much the same thing, comes with gsync or freesync later summer.

A new trend seems to emerge here:

Acer does the new most demanded thing FIRST.

Asus then does it second and acts like whiny bitches about it.

Either way - we have come far. Monitors are finally moving forward again... and in the right direction by the looks of it.

Wow just had a look at the Acer monitor you talk about and looks even more killer than this one! Thanks for the info guys, I'll keep an eye on both of them.
