ASUS reveals RT-AX88U 802.11ax Wi-Fi router

ASUS reveals RT-AX88U 802.11ax Wi-Fi router

ASUS will be offering a new flagship ASUS 802.11ac and ax Gaming Router. The 802.11ax could offer up to 5,962Mbps over Wi-Fi in a hip and a bit golden accent design.

That transfer speed is a combined one of 1,148Mbps over 2.4GHz and 4,804Mbps over 5GHz. The throughput would bw up-to four times faster compared to 802.11ac, and that more data transfers are supported at the same time as well.

ASUS RT-AX88U supports more simultaneous data transfers than 802.11ac MU-MIMO routers, allowing more devices to have faster network access at the same time without waiting for each other — perfect for homes with a growing number of smart, connected devices. RT-AX88U uses TWT technology to reduce unnecessary communications to 802.11ax devices, reducing power consumption and improving device battery life.

Availability and price are TBA.
